"Right, whose turn is it to be the character we threaten to kill off at the end of the series this time?"
The wheel spins back around to Sister Monica Joan for the first time in a while (you'll remember it was Dr Turner and Sister Julienne last series) and we go through the motions of stern faces and knowing looks around the bedside.
Don't get me wrong, it's all played well, it's well written and indeed all very nice, but I repeat the point I've made here before (especially in the twelfth series) - haven't we seen all of this before??
The BBC have recently re-commisioned this for a series thirteen and fourteen, so maybe by that time Timothy will be the much-loved character who gets a go at being the potential bumped off character.
