In this second installment, Hamka and Siti Raham Vol 2 explore more deeply the personal and romantic side of Buya Hamka and his wife, Siti Raham. The hard work of director Fajar Bustomi and the scriptwriters in sorting out the historical chapters of the life of one of Indonesia's leading Islamic figures, has paid off by presenting this film with a very smooth and coherent narrative. This film also shows well the process of Hamka writing his magnum opus, Tafsir Al Azhar, as well as a glimpse of the story of how he was able to "make peace" with the person who criticized his work the most, Pramoedya Ananta Toer. Praise is given to the leading actor, Vino G Bastian, who continually presents very diverse acting in every role he plays.
