Awesome

It was so enjoyable to see those two men discover sexual habits in different countries. No jugement, no mockery, no sarcasm, just genuine curiosity. And the relationship between them is very funny too. I really enjoyed this and laughed out loud a lot.

I don't know much about Korean culture but by watching "Korean English man" on YouTube, it seems that they are subject to a lot of rules in their social interactions. There seems to be a matter of age, of social class that determines who will serve and who will be served. I'm not even going to touch the subject of women, I'm not brave enough. But those two went through experiences that are so far from what they know. Loved it! (i'm a french woman for context)

Very interesting show
DemonSlayerSG25 April 2023
I've never seen such a show on Netflix like this. In my country (Vietnam), they mostly don't open to talk about this adult topic, in recent years (like 5 years ago til now) they tend to more open to discuss in public about this, even on screen (cinematic) but still limited overall, I hope there would be more and more topics, shows or movies like this on netflix or anywhere people in my country could access it, so they could approach the new mindset, think in a different way, and the society can be developed and more open. The show can be bad or can be good for some people but imo I think the show is great because I want to support these kind of content, so I gave it 10 out of 10.

It might be funnier in Korea

A Korean singer and a comedian examine the adult entertainment industry in Japan. I don't think humor translates either across cultures or across time, so some of the jokes in this didn't really land. The good thing about the documentary was that it did explore a lot of these areas of Japanese culture that might be a little bit fascinating to people from the outside, and they do it in a very Korean way. They go to a sex shop, and it was just like a typical sex shop, I'd say it was much bigger and more like a sex grocery store, so that was a little bit crazy. Then they interviewed three adult actresses about their jobs, and they made a very interesting point which is in the west we have a tendency to make a connection between violence and pornography where people make the erroneous claim that pornography increases violence against women or pornography itself is an act of violence against women, but they made the claim, and probably it's also equally untrue, but they made the claim that pornography is good because it allows men to release their urges, so there's less sexual crime. Then they interview a really famous adult entertainment actor, then they go to this a company which produces toys for men called Tanga. The next episode was about a host club. It's basically where women can go and have some theoretically attractive companion. Then they do a lacklustre interview with "typical" Japanese people. I thought it was an interesting documentary if you're interested in Korea or Japan-this is a two for one.

A commercial for Japan's sex industry
keikoyoshikawa25 April 2023
What a strange concept - have a couple of Korean actors explore the erotic/adult-theme industry in Japan and make it into a fun comedic show. In other words, put a good face to the AV and sex industry and ignore all the exploitation and downside.

The adult toys are pretty standard stuff, so let's look at the porn and escort industries instead.

While the honesty expressed by the AV actors are appreciated, it was still clearly an exercise in publicity and an obvious attempt to put a good face to an industry better known for using hundreds of young women then spitting them out every year.

Similarly, host and hostess clubs are merely a segment of the prostitution industry. And it's meant to be a respectable or acceptable front. The series completely ignores the darker side, such as enjo kosai (compensated dating).

But it's all still pretty seedy.

The last episode - dating, sex, and love life - was probably the most interesting of all. And it's no coincidence that it was also the least problematic. It's actually an important topic in Japan, and I'm glad that at least the series covered it.

Otherwise, this series feels more like a long and dishonest commercial for Japan's sex industry than an honest look, even if comedic, at what it really is.

Two perverts getting off over nothing. Another Netflix Craptacular
kmhlbeavis26 May 2023
They go to some district in japan and get all excited over seeing sex stuff. I guess they don't have that in Korea. I tried to watch it really but I fell asleep during episode 1. I tried to skip certain parts and see if this was watchable and it was a big fail. I could have gotten more excited reading adult stories without the images on the web and not fall asleep. They had no personality for doing this type of program. They looked like zombies. This is not worth even watching it even though it is only 6 episodes long. I didn't even bother to finish the last episode. I highly don't recommend this garbage. Netflix you did it again. Back to your old ways of financing garbage like this.

TMI
PalmBeachG25 April 2023
Too much information for me. I prefer not to know all the details of this side of Japan. Watch alot of KDramas and have watched a few JDramas that usually have a MA rating (and are usually more real and tender) and I guess that is how this got on my watch list, since it is about the Japanese sex industry however hosted by 2 Koreans that are recognizable in Korea. Thought it was kind of funny (one is a comedian and one is a singer), in the beginning because the singer is acting as the interpreter and he seems a little bit shy to discuss the sex issues - just wants to stick to interpreting, but as time goes by he starts to open up and starts getting more involved himself. All in all, TMI ruins my opinion of the Japanese culture, as it seems strange that men seem to grow up with the AV OK attitude, (see the dating episode), yet the girls are not happy about it. The guy says it is fantasy but yet his relationship of 4 years is sexless at most times - I assume he is getting his kicks from these types of things instead of the woman by his side - because she is too shy to ask. What the heck.
