I am bit perplexed on this final season
KRhea339 July 2023
So, I've got multiple thoughts on this episode and season so far 1) my husband watched all 3 seasons with me, but didn't make it through an episode and a half of this one. That said, we both have highly enjoyed this show! Tom Clancy and these types of shows always draw my attention.

2) But did they have a change in writers because I don't think they were affected by the writer's strike. I need to research this.

3) Michael Peña is tremendous and a great addition to the show.

4) It's interesting that this final season only has 6 episodes versus the usual 8. And that they chose to release 2 a week for 3 weeks. I can't help but mention that rival Netflix generally releases the whole season at once which I love so that I can binge watch; but I get that's not for everyone. And are these actors committed to other projects or crew, writers, etc, because this season hasn't been the best. It's had some moments and I've mentioned my love of John Krasinski before so I'm not going anywhere.

5) after watching this 4th episode, I can't help but agree that this storyline isn't that compelling. I usually don't care much about whether there's actions scenes or not, but those work well to me in this latest episode.

6) anyway, just 2 left and it's over. Seems like they were in a hurry to wrap it up and we got a little shortchanged. Here's to hoping I see John again real soon!

what?

Warning: Spoilers
So it is only 6 episodes and with like 66% gone the season is all over the place..

wright going to Africa for some reason that does not help the main story whatsoever..

jack's girlfriend .. it was obvious.. she played no part in the main storyline and they showed her talking to some woman in all 3 episodes.. and go figure , she is the big boss that owns the triad.. for some reason..

greer., now the deputy director of the CIA doing things that are related to the main storyline but not to his station.. LOL I always remember Castle or Law & Order SVU.. Benson and Becket.. when they were detectives, their captains never left the precint.. but when they themselves become Cap.. they somehow do not become supervisory characters.. they are able to keep doing field work...

Greer chasing down leads make no sense... great thing he had his moment to shine. Dude is obese, never trains, you dont see him doing nothing to sharpen his skills but when Reese Bolton hit his car and knifed him, he reacted instantly and was able to get away..

oh yeah, I forgot about Mike.. dude is fun.. I like him in the show because he helps Jack accomplish his missions...

Pena is an excellent actor.. he shines wherever he goes.

Wait.. Wright is only the Director because of Ryan in season 2, isnt she?

And now that Ryan needs help, she wants nothing to do with him because she wants to make director.. that bit looks legit.. one doing the dirty work and the other taking the glory

once again.. the season is all over the place and jacks girlfriend will be used as leverage to blackmail him.. i saw that since episode 1 lol.

A Descent Into A Paint By Numbers Plot
prcmd14 July 2023
What started off with a very promising premise about some mysterious murders that threatened national security descended into pumped up, a series of trite and predictable shoot-em-out scenes and actions sequences. By the last two episodes, an admirable cast is stuck without mercy in a thriller without any legitimate thrills and with a script that gives out obvious clues about where the secret whatevers are hidden that could blow up the world, and who are the kingpins behind a bunch of these nefarious conspiracies.

One brief example is when Ryan and his A-Team intercede in preventing dangerous cargo from crossing the American border. We're stuck to extremes of boredom watching our main characters watching a number of screens to figure out the carrier and then rushing onto the scene in on more tediously drawn out shoot out, followed by a neutralization of the dangerous stuff. This "we've seen it a hundred times before" plot can't be rescued with its accompanying pounding musical score. Nor can we be rescued from our tortuous embarrassment in watching this fine cast denied of any snappy dialogue and given only a bunch of reaction shots.

In the end, this film needed a script, editing and directing doctor comparable to Jack Ryan, who could figure out how to rescue this plodding and predictable film from ruin.

Episode 404

Warning: Spoilers
One of the weirdest parts of this final season is how separated the main three characters are on this show. This was built on their chemistry and the action and the whole saving the world thing, but they've got one guy out in the field (Jack Ryan, who was not supposed to be this kind of agent the way he was presented in season one) and the other two it seems on separate sides of the equation in Washington.

This was another episode that seemed like it ran for far too long and did not really accomplish any of its main goals. But at least there's only two episodes left and then we are free of this nightmare.

Where did the writers go this season?

Very lame. Third rate. So predictable. Just trash thrown about to get a paycheck. First two seasons were good. I am about to give up on the rest of this season. Boring. Very lame. Third rate. Too boring, too slow
mwen001-210 August 2023
It's time to shut this down. It's just too boring and too slow. First season had his moments but since then it all went downhill from there. This particular season is just the end of a very long process in which a show lost his purpose. Nice locations and decent acting is not enough. I guess all people the behind this show know their job bit it certainly didn't play out very well here! It's time to shut this down. It's just too boring and too slow.
