I wish I'd seen this when it aired - these observations are nearly useless now. I've enjoyed following the series and until this episode found the writing tight and lucid.
S.4 E.20 Rape: A Modern Perspective opens in court with the judge declaring Will & Alicia's 18yo client, Rainey Selwin, in contempt for breaking a gag order. When Alicia & Will try to convince her to apologize to the court a distraught Rainey refuses, believing her apology would be over the content of her breach and to her antagonist, not to the court. Instead of convincing Rainey that she need only apologize to the court for the breach of order, they just admire her 'determination' and vow to win ... and the rest of the episode ensues. That was just too far out of character for both Will & Alicia.
Save for this one faux pas the writing continues strong and compelling.
