A cheater was the winner

Stop reading now if you really don't want a spoiler alert. The person who was ultimately chosen as the winner was a cheater. They were told that "every single cookie you bake must be presented" Then they purposely HID their first batch of cookies that, of course, didn't come out well and instead, presented the 12 best cookies from their SECOND batch. Rather than being unceremoniously dumped from the show, they made this blowhard cheater the winner.

Don't Waste Your Time

This was an embarrassment to American bakers. Some of the bakers were good amateur bakers. One was a manipulative entitled cheater (ugh), one baked to seduce women (ugh), and another cried after every bake because her attempts didn't get her more praise. They also didn't seem to get the concept of the show (did the producers not educate them??) - when Paul Hollywood gave one a handshake he thought that meant he was going home. It was painful to watch and I fast forwarded through the last 3 episodes (out of 7) to see who won. SPOILER ALERT: The entitled cheater won. Disgusting. What must the Brits think of us after watching this dreck?

Bad outcome!

I rated this a low two stars because I liked a few of the contestants. However, the ultimate winner cheated in the cookie round and should have been eliminated on the spot. It seems they made only one season of this version of the "original" show. My guess is they received a ton of criticism about the cheating situation. I enjoy most of the baking shows and was thrilled to have found one I didn't even know existed, but I'm so disappointed after watching these seven episodes on a streaming service.

The winner received $250,000 AND a book contract! Why, oh why, was the cheater rewarded with such an extravagant prize? Not good.
