Many of the stars of the early YouTube era have since faded into obscurity, but Ok Go is still rolling along. The alt-rock quartet, which first gained fame thanks to their wild, treadmill-powered music video for their song “Here It Goes Again,” has now released what is quite possibly its most ambitious video of all: It accompanies the song “Upside Down & Inside Out,” and it takes place within a freefalling plane.
The video begins innocently, with the four members of Ok Go strapped into their seats. Once the music kicks in, however, they begin floating about the cabin, as if in space. The video’s “trick” is a simple one: The plane itself is in freefall, thus creating the illusion that Ok Go, their flight attendants, their piñatas, and everything else on their plane is tumbling--upside down and inside out--toward the ground.

Big Brother pulled out a great task last night - it was impossible not to snigger at the housemates screaming their heads off at everything from teddy bears to non-existent bumps in the night. And it was such a good one that it got us thinking about some of our other favourite challenges across Big Brother history.
We've left out Celebrity Big Brother, but below we picked just some of our favourite ever tasks. It turned out to be quite a tough ask to narrow it down, given how many there have been over the years. Read on to see what we picked, and let us know what you loved in the comments...

On October 14th, Ok Go released Hungry Ghosts, their fourth studio album. New Ok Go music also signals a new wave of creative music videos, and sure enough, the clever alt rock group has returned with another viral YouTube hit. Ok Go's latest music video, which accompanies the song "I Won't Let You Down", features everything from motorized unicycles to choreographed umbrella dances to Japanese pop star cameos. The video for "I Won't Let You Down" was born out of a partnership with Honda, through which the four members of Ok Go earned the chance to try out a futuristic Segway-like vehicle called the Uni-Cub. At the beginning of the five-minute video, Ok Go receives its new toys alongside Japanese pop group Perfume, who are also known for their intricate music videos. The four members of the band then roll around on their Uni-Cubs while dancers open and close...

Just over a week ago, Ok Go premiered the video for their new single “The Writing’s on the Wall”. Appropriately, the Internet responded with the expected “oohs” and “ahhs”. But, of the dozen or so articles I checked out regarding the video, said articles were no longer than a couple hundred word blurbs that briefly mentioned that Ok Go makes cool videos and this was another one of them. I would not call myself a music connoisseur by any means, but I do adore music and I adore music videos. I think we should talk about them with more respect. Let’s talk about their relationship to film, both formally and textually. Let’s talk about how film informed music video aesthetic and how, subsequently, music video informed film aesthetic. Let’s talk about how directors have jumped back and for between the medium and how that’s affected their overall style.

The members of Ok Go make good music, but they make really great videos. Ever since their groundbreaking—single-take clip for "Here It Goes Again" -- the 2006 video where they performed the song on treadmills— the quartet has consistently raised the bar for creativity without embracing special effects and explosions. Like their videos for the “White Knuckles” (the adorable one with the dogs) and their Rube Goldberg-inspired masterpiece, “This Too Shall Pass,” the clip for “The Writing’s On The Wall” is a single take (watch to the end and see the band and crew’s reaction at getting a usable take). The theme for “The Writing’s On The Wall” is that everything we see is an illusion as the band goes through fake-out after fake-out. It’s a blast to watch repeatedly and try to figure out how they accomplished some of the feats, while others are very easy to track.

It feels like so long ago that Channing Tatum was just another hunky dancer in a movie about dancing teens. Approximately eight years later, Tatum is a mega-star who married his onscreen dance partner, and a new generation of dancers has taken over. And they're going to Vegas, baby, Vegas!
Redonkulously handsome Ryan Guzman ("Step Up Revolution," "Pretty Little Liars," "Jem and the Holograms") puts on his dancing shoes to join Briana Evigan ("Step Up 2: The Streets") and a bunch of other "Step Up" alums to compete for their very own Vegas show. Yeah, this is a far cry from the dainty ballerinas and krumping flash mobs of years past.
This is director Trish Sie's first feature-length film. You might know her work from Ok Go's video for "Here It Goes Again," which featured the band in a crazy treadmill routine that Sie choreographed and co-directed. That...

The Step Up conga line continues, with Step Up 5: Tbd beginning production September 21. Your two main dancers will be Ryan Guzman (Step Up Revolution) and Briana Evigan (Step Up 2: The Streets). They will be directed by choreographer and music video vet (Ok Go's "Here It Goes Again") Trish Sie. More important, some of the Step Up favorites are indeed returning, including: Moose, Robot Guy, Jason, Hair, and Camille. And if Step Up Revolution embraced the flash mob, who knows what Step Up 5 will do with twerking.

Since 2008, NPR has highlighted new and upcoming musical acts with Tiny Desk Concerts, a performance series featuring guests from the radio station's All Songs Considered program. More than five years after its launch, Tiny Desk is still going strong, and NPR has released its most ambitious performance yet. The most recent episode of Tiny Desk features a moving performance from Ok Go, with the alt rockers playing one of their new songs as they move across our nation's capital. Some context: NPR recently relocated from its old headquarters to a new one just north of the Capitol. All of the books, furniture, and equipment featured on Tiny Desk had to be transported, and instead of just sending in the movers and calling it a day, NPR decided to turn the move into a concert of its own. Naturally, the band featured during such an experimental episode was Ok Go, who...
