A brave Jewish mother, who dreams of getting an education and becoming an artist, is forced to marry at 17 and discovers her husband is actually an abusive, cheating drug addict. While attending university she begins advocating for women's rights in Iran. Her activism gets the attention of the Iranian government, who jailed her for months, tortured her, and infused her with Crystal Meth, in order to discredit her. Upon her release, she hides to detox herself. Fearing for her life, she finds no other way but to flee Iran with her daughters, which means a dangerous hike through the snowy mountains toward the Turkish border, When she finally makes it to Israel, she realizes she is dying of stage 4 breast cancer, but continues her role as a mother and advocate of justice and freedom.
