Fridays remain a big night for law and order, as the first official one of the new TV season (Sept. 27) reaffirms -- but young chefs are being added to the night's viewing recipe.
8 p.m. Et/Pt:
"Undercover Boss" (Season 5 premiere, CBS): The reality show that sends bosses incognito among their employees starts fresh with Randy Dewitt, the co-founder and CEO of the Twin Peaks sports-bar-and-grill chain. He never could pass for one of the Daisy Mae-attired waitresses, so it's an automatic relief that he merely poses as a customer ... but the type he wouldn't want his workers to have to deal with.
"Masterchef Junior" (Series premiere, Fox): A kinder, gentler Gordon Ramsay? If that's possible, it'll happen in this kids' version of his popular cooking contest, with all the entrants between the ages of 8 and 13. Bear in mind Ramsay also has their parents to deal with, so...

The CW's newest reality show is playing matchmaker, but did love prevail?
"Perfect Score," hosted by CW-favorite Arielle Kebbel, premiered Tuesday night (July 16) and featured two friends competing to win a date with their most compatible date ... as well as the $50,000 cash prize. First up were two college roommates competing to find their perfect man, but as soon as the 10 guys were introduced and given 30 seconds for a dance break, it all went downhill.
Most of the guys competing were too forward and aggressive when it came to referencing their skills in the bedroom, and it was obvious that the two girls were not digging the pushy comments. Uncomfortable much? Do the contestants have the option to win the chance to date none of these guys? All of them seemed ... well, like the exact opposite of a gentleman. Certainly not a prize. There was even one guy who wouldn't stop flexing his pecs.

Arielle Kebbel is content to be the host, and not a contestant, on a new dating show.
Which isn't to say she isn't having fun with it. Premiering tonight (July 16), the CW series "Perfect Score" has two friends take compatibility tests to determine their ideal matches. Each of their potential choices also takes the test, with each assigned a dollar amount ... and $50,000 is a potential prize, as well as a presumably idyllic date.
"To me, it's a throwback to 'Singled Out,' " Kebbel tells Zap2it. "That was one of my favorite shows growing up. There's real money on the line here, and there are three different processes of elimination. Each round becomes crazier and crazier, and the contestants are having a blast. And I'm having a blast because they're having a blast. I left every day of work on this with a smile on my face.
