For big Dragon Ball fans only Warning: Spoilers
"Dragon Ball: Episode of Bardock" is an animated short film from 2011, so this one had its 5th anniversary last year. The director is Yoshihiro Ueda and this was made by several writers, also from Japan, that I have never heard of. Voice actors will also be unknown outside of Asia I'm sure. The protagonist is Bardock, Goku's father, even if I must say he looks exactly the same to me. But this is probably just subjective as my eye is certainly not exactly trained when it comes to the Dragon ball universe and the title gives away instantly that this is where the story takes place. But judging from the Dragon Ball stuff I have see, these little purple creatures were a bit of an odd addition and while they could have worked in their own universe/movie, they did not really go well together with Dragon Ball. As for the story: Could have been better, could have been worse. It was nothing that would get me interested in watching any other episodes or short films or even movies from that franchise. But like I said: A lot of my dislike here also has to do with personal bias as the animation style and the DB concept have never interested me a lot. So this recent addition is only worth checking out for big fans. Everybody else can skip it.

Dragon Ball's Stupidest Special

I'm not sure if I should really count this as a movie, episode or special. I don't want to count this as cannon, I don't want the events of this episode to have happened. I am not a fan of Bardock, even in his "good" specials. Anytime they try to incorporate some sort of larger prophecy into the story. When they make it seem like it was destiny for Goku to become a super saiyan and defeat Frieza, it lessens both the characters and the story.

How did Bardock survive being exploded along with his planet? How did the events of this movie happen? Never explained. Just make up your own explanation. I'm going to say that the whole thing is either a bad dream Gohan is having, or because Bardock was such a brilliant scientist he managed to time travel. I don't know, it is still more of an explanation than this episode will offer.

Side note, the animation is too glossy. Everyone has too thick of outlines and it feels like it was made on the cheap. It makes the whole thing unappealing to watch.

As a bonus you find for collecting all items in a Tenkaichi video game, this episode is fine. But as a Dragon Ball episode, piece of continuity or even just as a narrative 3-act structure it fails.

it was all wasted on Bardock

Warning: Spoilers
So this episode was created in 2011 it was entirely dedicated to Bardock aka Goku's father he has already had a film aka the film released for television in 1990 he really decided to make this episode about him So this starts when Bardock tried toface Freeza but he doesn't allow him and he dies but for a strange reason he hopes he actually sent him to the past or to planet Vegeta but I don't know how many years he sent since there are beings here that no one knows but Baldec faces Right there the old ancestor Freeza who yescall Chilled So for me I didn't like this episode That's why it didn't manage to deserve the insufficiency because Here there are really a lot of things that I don't like that I can't find the logical sensor Why is Freeza's sphere the sent it into the past no such thingit should really happen and then when he is there what happened to his powers that they saw in the future don't tell me when he went there he completely lost them and then why on planet Vegeta no one He didn't make any reference to these beings who they lived hundreds of years ago and thenbad is Chilled No it's not interesting at all because this really seems like the bad copy Freeza is then this only serves to be killed by Bardock but the only positive thing about this episode and when Bardock transforms into Super Saiyan is this was really confirmation thatthe legend always spoke but one thing I can't understand but if he hadn't gone to the past the legend wouldn't have happened anyway since in the anime they always spoke about the legend of the Super Saiyan and then the first person was really Bardock and then from the tower says that theBardock's adventures will still continue Who knows since this hasn't had a continuation yet but let's see if it has less in the future they will put Bardock aside who will meet his son Goku for a good time to conclude the vote 5.
