When the producers of a series know that they are not being renewed they react in strange ways. Some just continue doing what they do, and try to wrap up the loose ends (eg - CLOSER, brilliant series). Others will deliberately leave loose ends, as if saying, hey, if you wanted to know more, you should have supported the show, and we would not have been cancelled (eg - Saving Grace, also brilliant). Finally, my favorite group, those that decide to deconstruct their own show and consider what they would have done differently, if anything (eg- Human Target, compare the first season to the second. Wow). Here in the second to last episode of the original series (so-called because I just saw a release saying that by popular demand they were reactivating the series and would start filming in late 2014) the producers clearly decided to let it all hang out. Personally, while the cast of seasons 2-4 was solid, this reviewer always felt that Richard Armitage (one of the many characters sent to his or her reward during this series) had more gravitas, and I missed him. I also found the constant in-mission foulups more and more predictable, to the point of annoyance. That said, the actions scenes in this episode are the best in the first series and really showcase what this could have been at a higher level of imagination and execution.

Coincidence?

Warning: Spoilers
Started rewatching because there's no other TV show like this!
At the start of this episode Locke talks about securing an " genetically engineered smallpox virus with an infection rate that's terrifying " that Al Zuhari ordered and they're gonna release worldwide, and there's no vaccine and no cure. How about that for coincidence ??
