I think that the problem with this episode and others of late is that the writers are attempting to discuss too many problems at once and the minds of the viewers shall invariably begin to wander.
Here, we saw gas theory plots in battle, an evasive Romney camp dodging questions with reporters on the bus and the September 11th anniversary show not being hosted by Will. We see the reappearance of the gossip columnist among the mayhem occurring.
For a Republican, Will McAvoy, the always wonderful Jeff Daniels, certainly goes after his political party here and furthermore, he doesn't exactly mince words.
This combined with love relationships makes for an interesting, but just too much for the viewer to see.
