Joss Wheedon once again gives us a well served up plot of twists and turns. The story is very original and is in keeping with his emphasis on the tumultuous and dreaded teen years. We are treated to two main subplots that intersect with dire consequences. The audience is treated with respect allowing them to fill in the connections and we are kept guessing right up to the end. There is also a wonderful cameo of Siguorney Weaver near the end.
The themes are characteristic of horror movies and handles them well. The iconic figures of horror are made from metaphor to the real. I recommend this movie for anyone who gets joy out of the wheedon experience.
