The original script included a scene in which Marilyn (Sines) was interviewed by tons of press and was to appear before the beach montage. However, the Director (Anthony) said about the scene "It didn't pan out too well," and it was cut from the final film. Photos of this scene can be seen during the beach montage in the photos in the newspaper graphics.
Kathi Collins was cast to play Marilyn's Publicist, Patricia Newcomb and filmed the press scene. Despite the scene being cut, she is still listed in the credits.
The beach scene was filmed a week after principal photography wrapped. Aside from the two actors, only the Director (Anthony), Director of Photography (Horvath), the First Assistant Director (Kuykendall) and the Sound Mixer (Seils) attended the filming.
The scene with Marilyn (Sines) and George Barris (Ballentine) was originally written to be in George's studio, however, due to lack of Art Direction the scene was rewritten to Marilyn's home.
All of Marilyn's (Ericka Sines) lines in the interview scene where Marilyn (Sines) speaks to Richard Meryman (Ethan Grey) was done in one take. According to the DVD commentary, this scene is Director Avery Anthony's favorite scene.
