Everything in Genosha is pricy due to the fact they haven't yet properly started trading with other countries.
In the streets of Genosha as in the night party there can be seen different mutants from Marvel Comics: -Megan Gwynn/Pixie (the pink fairy). -Robert Herman/Glob (the boy with transparent body and visible skeleton). -Lavinia LeBlanc/Gargouille (winged and horned girl). -Lin Li/Nature Girl (young girl with deer horns). -Bennet du Paris/Exodus (black suit with white cape). -Alisa Tager/Cipher (dancing black girl with powers of a ghost). -Alison Blaire/Dazzler (singing girl with light powers). -Samuel Paré/Squid-Boy (fishman). -Sarah Rushman/Marrow (short red haired girl) -Jamie Madrox/Multiple Man (black suit with green coat who duplicates himself).
The music theme during Magneto and Rogue's flying dance is Ace of Base: Happy Nation (1993). It was published as the lead single of their debut album on December 7, 1992.
Genosha's governing council is made up of Banshee, Moira McTaggart, Madelyne Pryor, Calisto, Nightcrawler, Emma Frost and Sebastian Shaw. Moira got her place despite being a non-mutant due to her loyalty to Professor X and his goals. Madelyne was recruited as an X-Man was requested. Calisto lead the Morlocks for years, so she has experience understanding the much less underprivileged. Nightcrawler is helping the mutants with different communities and faiths get along. Frost and Shaw have experience running the Inner Circle, so they have better knowledge of handling staff.
Madelyne and Scott being in a mindlink together and being caught by Jean is a nod to the psychic affair Scott had with Emma Frost aka the White Queen and they were caught by Jean in New X-Men #138/139 (May/June 2003).
