Exactly what you would expect from the third movie in a series that didn't need a sequel to begin with.
cosmo_tiger15 June 2014
"You don't want to take that road, trust me." A group of street racers head off to a race and they stop in a small town for lunch. While there they ask what the quickest way to get to their destination is. When they are told to avoid the fast road because of its history they laugh and take it anyway. As a joke they decide to cut off a truck driver. This little action pits them against the dangerous Rusty Nail (Kirzinger). There really isn't a whole lot to say about this movie. The original was good and tense because it was new and different. A harmless prank that you could see yourself doing leads to something no one can imagine. Much like everything in the last 10 years if enough people like it a franchise begins. The second one was a bland version of the original and this one isn't much better. The thing that made the first one so interesting was the originality of it. This one has no surprises at all and you can see everything coming a mile away. All that said though because this is the third movie in the series and since it is a straight to video B-rate movie you really can't expect much more then that. Overall, exactly what you would expect from the third movie in a series that didn't need a sequel to begin with. I give this a C.

Creative ways to kill people using a … Truck!
Coventry22 March 2017
Based on no less than 3 sequels in the "Wrong Turn" franchise, 1 sequel in the "Joyride" franchise and 1 bizarre creature-feature experiment called "Sharktopus", I think it's safe to assume that director Declan O'Brien will probably never win any Academy Awards, but you can definitely rest assured that his films deliver lots of deranged monsters/psychopaths, nauseating gore effects and excruciatingly painful on-screen death sequences! And, as I'm sure many horror genre fanatics will agree with me, sometimes those are exactly all the things you require in order to have a good time! Last weekend, I attempted to start watching no less than three other (more ambitious and classier) thrillers, but I was too tired and kept falling asleep. I had almost given up my desire to watch something, but then "Joyride 3" started on television. This movie didn't have any problems whatsoever to keep me awake and entertained, and sometimes that's simply the best possible compliment you can write about a horror movie!

The plot of "Joyride 3: Road Kill" – hardly an imaginative subtitle, by the way – is a non-stop spitfire of the most derivative and overused horror clichés. You know, there's even a variation on the good old-fashioned, mad-raving local who tries to warn the dumb kids not to take Highway 17! That scene certainly brought back a lot of fond 80s slasher memories! Every single one of the main and supportive characters are walking & talking stereotypes and the chronological order in which they are most likely to get slaughtered is easy to foretell from the moment they open their mouths. There isn't any tension building whatsoever, lots of stuff doesn't make any sense and there are numerous errors in continuity (unless you're willing to believe that giant cumbersome 18-wheel truck travels quicker than a race car). But the most crucial question to ask here is: does it all matter? No, absolutely positively not!

The simple truth is that "Joyride 3" is about a psycho-trucker who goes after a bunch of amateur street racers because they nearly drove him off the road. Well, in all likelihood he was going to go after them even if they didn't drove him off the road. While the group falls apart, our trucker – Rusty Nail – cheerfully massacres them one by one. The cool thing is that he uses his truck or assets the truck as murder weapon, so naturally it gets very messy! If you're a true gorehound, there are some marvelous rewind-sequences here. I like your movies, Mr. Declan O'Brien. That "Sharktopus" thing is an insult to the intellect to every living creature, but the "Wrong Turn" sequels are fun and so is "Joyride 3".

Just average
TdSmth525 August 2014
A couple doing drugs in a motel run out of drugs and money. They decide to lure a trucker to their room and then take his drugs or money. Unfortunately for them the trucker who answers is Rusty Nail. He's got plans for them. He chains them to his truck, tapes drugs to his windshield. If they hang on while he drives for a mile, they get the drugs. They survive the mile. But the girl gets to eager for the drugs and reaches for them. That pulls the chain into the truck's U-joint and they yanked under the truck and run over. So far so good.

Next we meet a bunch of rejects from an Asylum casting call for extras. They're supposed to be a racing team. They're on their way to Canada for a race. There's 6 of them, 2 girls and 4 guys, in 2 cars, an SUV with a bed and some little race car. They stop at a diner, discover on a map a shorter route and ask some trucker about the road. It's called slaughter alley because people tend to die there. The crazy trucker warns them to stay away. A cop arrives tells them it's just fine. So they take that road.

The guy who says he's the mechanic is eager to drive the car. When the driver lets him, he becomes aggressive and irresponsible. He cuts a trucker off. Yup, it's Rusty Nail.

Now it's getting dark off course and Rusty has got to take revenge on the kids, kidnapping some and killing those he gets his hands on. Eventually he gets the girlfriend of the driver and tries to exchange her for the car first and then for the guy. The cops get involved as well, but Rusty is always a step ahead.

Joy Ride 3 offers some thrills, some gore, a bit of nudity, some good country music. Leela Savasta is very cute but doesn't get much to do. Kirzinger is a good villain, but unfortunately the dialogue overall is very weak. The least you can do is give your villain some cool lines. This movie tries to be too serious while it lacks the scares or tension or even a strong lead as the kids are entirely disposable. They should have gone for something more tongue-in-cheek given the weaknesses. Like many horror movies this one too, would have been better had they filmed everything during day light. Overall, Joy Ride 3 is a decent sequel, it doesn't stand out, it's not terrible nor particularly good. O'Brien is a better director than he is a writer and producers should keep that in mind and hire a writer for his future projects.

Why Did I Spend My Time Watching this Garbage?
claudio_carvalho27 June 2014
Warning: Spoilers
A race team is driving to Canada to participate in an auto race. They decide to take a shortcut through a lonely road and when they surpass the truck of Rusty Nail (Ken Kirzinger), the psychopathic trucker hunts the down and captures each one of them to torture and kill.

"Joy Ride 3" is an awful collection of clichés with the usual stupidities of the characters and situations and omnipresence of the indestructible villain. The car has a flat tire when the driver is not near his friends; the cellular never work when the group is in danger; the group splits and tries to rescue the friend that is in danger instead of calling the police; the killer does not die and is always one step ahead of the group; the girl leaves a safe position to help the good guy and only jeopardizes the situation; the police officers take always the most stupid attitude to die. The good thing is the gore and realistic special effects. In the end, I do not understand why I spent my time watching this predictable garbage. My vote is three.

Your average slasher-horror movie
grantss25 July 2015
Your average slasher-horror movie. That is, pretty bad...

A bunch of twenty-somethings are driving to Canada to get to a (Nascar- type) race. They annoy a truck driver who then gets his revenge in rather sadistic ways...

Just from that summary you'll know this movie is hardly original. The highway scenes are derivative of Duel, and just about every highway- confrontation movie since then. The latter half of the movie is pretty much just Saw (or one of its zillion sequels).

So nothing new, and just more sadistic violence for the sake of it. Weak story, paint-by-numbers direction.

Avoid.

Mostly Joyless
nebk12 June 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I was hoping that this film would at least try to emulate the suspense of first Joy Ride movie but alas it is by the numbers gore fest about a psychotic trucker killing anyone whom he perceives has wronged him in some way or other. Whilst there were sparks of promise ultimately the movie lacks an interesting plot and story and relies on gore and blood spattering to carry it through. And it doesn't work.

In a nutshell this movie is about a bunch of friends and members of a car racing team going to Canada for a race. One of the team members overtakes a truck and sends gravel onto the truck bonnet and front grill. In the truckers book this is an automatic death sentence and he goes on a killing spree eliminating the group members in highly implausible ways. That's about it. The movie starts to drag on once you realize there is hardly any suspense. Another problem is that in the first Joy Ride film, the trucker was a menacing presence and a person who felt wronged and was seeking revenge however misguided. In this film the trucker is just psychopathic and just wants to kill. The fact that the psycho trucker is able to overtake a race car is also doubtful to say the least. The actions of the main characters are also implausible. They basically avoid asking for police assistance for the dumbest of reasons: that they are afraid of going to jail... Completely unreasonable given the context.

The acting is basically OK for a bunch of unknown actors and the effects are decent enough for a low budget movie, but overall this is a mostly forgettable movie that doesn't have much to offer in terms of suspense or a story line.

Pretty Dreadful Sequel To The Joy Ride Series
dfa12037418 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
A group of young car racing enthusiasts are on their way to enter their car into a race in Canada, and after stopping for a bite to eat and to ask for some directions, they decide to take a route that is known as Slaughter Alley (after being warned not to, of course). It's here that one of the racers decides to toy about with a truck driver, but that, as they soon find out, was a mistake. What was supposed to be a non-eventful road trip has now turned into a deadly cat-and-mouse game for survival.

This will be a pretty short review because in all honesty there isn't much to write about Joy Ride 3. The first film was a good, tense thriller with a good cast. Joy Ride 2 wasn't a patch on the first movie but it was still a watchable film. This one however, well, let's just be polite and say it's gone to the opposite end of Joy Ride.

There is plenty of gore but not much of a storyline, so at least the splatter fans might get something out of the movie. There's the usual casting of stereotypical characters as well....street racer jock types along with their stick insect scream queen girlfriends, and of course the now indestructible serial killer, Rusty Nail.

This only JUST made it into a 3-star rating for me purely because some of the scenes are not too bad. Well, that and I never lost the will to live while watching the movie.

It's watchable but only just barely.

This movie sucks bad
tllypj198510 June 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I am a fan of the first Joy Ride, I enjoyed the second one but not as much as I enjoyed the first one...

With that being said, I was surprised to see that a new Joy Ride movie was out. I hadn't heard anything about it up until it's release, so I was excited to see it...

Just to save everybody, this movie is trash. The first scene consists of Rusty Nail ( who is now full view in camera and is played by a terrible actor ) chaining two meth addicts to his semi, he tapes a bag of meth to the wind shield just out of their reach. If one of them goes for it, they will pull the chain and drag the other under the semi. They have to travel a mile on the front of the semi and Rusty Nail says he will stop the truck... Well, they go for over a mile, he doesn't stop and of course one of the meth addicts reaches for the bag.. It's just so stupid, it's hard to describe it properly

Throughout the movie there are these annoying cops that are so stupid... I don't know if it's on purpose or what, but these cops are fricken moronic

I suggest to anybody thinking about seeing this, don't. Avoid it. You will thank me later

Standard stuff but moderately entertaining
MattyGibbs6 January 2015
I enjoyed the first Joyride which was full of tension and very well done. Unfortunately as we already know the perpetrator this one does away with the tension to instead concentrate more on gore.

A group of boy racers and assorted girlfriends pick on the wrong lorry to mess with and pay the price. It's all fairly predictable stuff but there are one or two good scenes i.e the opening death scene to keep you interested. At times it is extremely gory with some SAW like scenes which I'm not sure add a great deal to the movie. The acting is what you'd expect, by no means bad but not great either.

Overall as long as you don't have high expectations this is an OK time filler but I doubt it's one that will live long in the memory.

Missed the Point
viridel10 June 2014
Warning: Spoilers
What made the first two interesting is that the victims were legitimately less-than-wonderful people. This one starts off right with two crack-heads trying to trick Rusty into being robbed - their deaths were justifiable.

The rest of the movie is Rusty trying to get even with SIX young adults, because ONE had the nerve to splash gravel on his rig (ooohhhh nasty - definitely deserving of a death penalty). The primary female victim is the most innocent of the bunch, wanting to go to the cops to tattle on her FRIEND.

Joy Ride has been built around the "Revenge Thriller" premise - and completely missed the boat on this one... It's just a psychopath killing for fun.

A Disappointment
TheJoker3528 June 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was a huge disappointment for me. I am a huge fan of the first two films. They had suspense, humor, and kept you on the edge of your seat almost throughout. This one only had a few of those moments. There were a ton of flaws in this movie, and I'm about to mention a couple, so, spoiler alert.

The acting: The acting wasn't very good at all. I'd say the worst acting came from Jewel (Played by Kirsten Prout). Her screams were not convincing, especially near "the end". Almost none of the characters were likable. I was almost hoping Rusty Nail would kill them all off.

Rusty Nail: Who the hell was that guy? The guy in this movie was NOT Rusty Nail. Rusty Nail has a deep, scary, and threatening voice. Ken Kirzinger did not sound like that at all. Another flaw about him; they showed his face. Constantly. Rusty Nail has always been hiding in the shadows. Sure, you can kinda sorta see his face in the other two, but only quick glimpses.

The only things I can think of that I liked about this movie, were the atmosphere, and the death scenes. Yes, some of the deaths could make a person cringe, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

If you're hoping for mindless violence/gore, this movie is for you. If you're hoping to see a movie with the charm of the original, avoid. 5/10.

Joyride 3, what a good bloody ride!
joonas13414 June 2014
Joy Ride is something different from other horror movie styles period. I enjoyed first one so much, it was so original, different well-through all trough. Second one has it's moments, but overall somehow rushed and just too much scripted with mediocre stuff.

Well.. now we have Joy Ride 3! I really liked this one, because we finally see some gore-scenes and just brutal deaths from the "psychopath Rusty nail killer, torturer". Which was different in this one, previous ones just show how "scary Rusty nail can be" now we see really dark side of him, which is good and different and refreshing. All though I think some deaths are just unnecessary and just poorly planned.

Story isn't nothing special, some racing crew got to face Rusty and yeah... basically Rusty Nail wants to play with them again and some nasty, brutal "Cat and mice game". Overall I liked the movie, but there is some flaws, I don't want to spoil anything here, just see it, it's not disappointing.. if you just close your brain and enjoy the ride, you will like it I think. Well at least I liked it a lot, it's really good overall and really.. really.. unforgivable and lastly bloody and brutal.

Go see it, you won't regret it! Really enjoyable, waiting for the next part obviously. :)

Incredibly generic but blood and horror fans will be quenched
Robert_duder13 June 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Joyride 3 is not good. Don't misunderstand anything in this review that implies that. In fact, at the half-way mark I almost turned it off but I'm happy to say that the latter half of the movie almost makes it worthwhile. The original Joyride is a modern day horror classic. It did nearly everything right and had the fortunate luck of the charisma of its two stars. I haven't even seen the second Joyride and I don't really intend on it. Both the second and the third are sheer money grabs on the franchise, no more and no less. They don't even try to make it a worthwhile story. The characters are borderline awful and the entire film exists for no other reason than to flex their gore muscles and kill off hapless victims. In that respect, the film works and works pretty well. The kills are actually unique, over the top, and horror worthy. Its reminiscent of the ridiculous yet guilty pleasure series Wrong Turn. It was sort of nice to have "Rusty Nail" the original killer return but he isn't even remotely the same as he was. Whereas in the original he was dark, mysterious, quiet and killed from the shadows in number 3 he is over the top, in your face and anything but mysterious.

Honestly, I don't know whether the problem with this cast is they are poor actors or if the script simply gives them nothing in the way of character development. It is likely somewhere in the middle. Kirsten Prout, Ben Hollingsworth and Dean Armstrong are the characters you'll see the most of but no one stands out and the chemistry is severely lacking. Hollingsworth doesn't hold a candle to Paul Walker from the original and he does have one or two decent scenes where he performs adequately but the script which only wants Rusty Nail to dismember and kill prevents him from doing anything significant with the role. Everyone else...literally...is forgettable. I wasn't even sure most of their names and they existed strictly as victims. Ken Kirzinger gives the best performance in the movie (that's not saying much but he does) as our killer "Rusty Nail." He's no stranger to horror and he is a legendary stunt co-coordinator. The problem is the character is written so empty and you just don't care enough about him as a villain or any of the victims either.

I literally laughed out loud when I looked and saw who our writer and director is. Now all of this makes sense. Why anyone would hand the reigns over to a director and writer with such little experience and he has single handedly taken the reigns of the Wrong Turn series which has become ridiculous (although an absolutely insanely fun guilty little pleasure.) He has no handle on what the original film stood for with horror fans and this could have been any new horror flick and not held the Joyride name (although haphazardly Rusty Nail mentions "Candy Cane"...a nod to Walker's CB handle from the original. The reason I score this a solid six is because the film ends up being campy and entertaining and the big battle at the end is actually well shot with good special effects and definitely follows the tried and true recipe of a slasher movie. So in that regard it succeeds but just barely. If you even try to hold in the same regard as the original, you'll hate it. So take it as it is, a cheesy, slapped together, acceptable torture-horror film. 6/10

I hate myself for watching this
dakavlada15 June 2014
First i need to apologize to my brain,my eyes and my ears after watching this movie.

The only thing that is good about this movie is that now i know that i have watched the worst movie ever. This is crime to the first joy ride. I cant even decide what is the worst part of the movie...Is it director,is it acting,is it story...

I watched good movies and i watched the bad ones.I watched stupid movies,i watched movies that made me hate myself for weeks after watching. But this goes beyond.Joy ride 3 was so bad that it made me want to claw my eyes out.

I don't want to waste any more time on this movie by telling you how bad it is,because it would take me forever...

Sorry for my bad English and PLEASE don't watch this movie.

The Ride is Over
Zebb6723 July 2014
The original Joyride is one of my favorite horror films/thrillers: lots of tension and though it was a little derivative of The Hitcher and Duel, it had enough originality to keep you guessing as to what happens next. It also had better actors playing more likable characters than the teenage clichés presented here. It also relied mostly on suspense rather than the gratuitous gore thrown in here. I watched the first sequel (even though it was a direct-to-video) and it was pretty bad, but this one is terrible. Rusty Nail is no longer mysterious; he's on full view here and is thus just another slasher killing for no reason (other than being cut off in traffic by one of the characters). In the first film he was genuinely humiliated. But being cut off on the highway doesn't seem like much of a reason to go on a torturing, killing rampage, building elaborate contraptions as part of his revenge. Most people just flip the bird when cut off on the roadway. Time to put the brakes on this series.

Why Did I SEE ?
xander919914 June 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I really wish i could give this 0 .... hey not my day ...

No wonder why we see so many killings in us compared to even 3 worlds out there.....

whats the point in showing someone with this killing hunger in brutal fashion ......and at the end every killer escapes ....

Police cant do anything but wonder around clueless .

i have started to hate most of the recent Hollywood movies ..... some things are pretty common .... and they are

1... Americans are heros and saves the world . 2... all of the serial killers escapes .... 3... killing sounds to be good ,, they show as brutal as possible ,, examples.... wrong turns ... saw ,,, joyride ... hostel... jason,,,final destination...devils rejects.... to name a few....

and reason for all these killings and sadism is nothing , moreover they show as if they are fun ...

when i read news about shootouts in schools and collages by teens, i feel Hollywood has role to play ,,, may be a big role ...

Please avoid this movie .... not only this movie but this entire genre of sadism and killing ... these are putting lot of dark sadism in the young minds of teens around the world ...

THANK YOU ALL..

*Spoilers* but who cares, this review is better than watching the movie!!

Warning: Spoilers
This movie sucked ass!!! The acting was horrible and there were so many flaws. That girl(jewel, I think was her name in the movie) could have totally out ran that semi truck and not have gotten kidnapped! I was really hoping the blonde girl would live in the end, but no she gets tied to the top of the truck and is splattered by running into the bridge!!!! That's where I turned off the movie, I did not watch passed that part!! There are so many other things that could have been done in the movie to prevent a bad thing from happening!! When the main character(forgot his name, blond girls boyfriend)found the video of his girlfriend screaming in the car trunk, how did the truck driver get back in his truck without him or the other girl (brunette, only other girl in the movie, with the main characters) seeing him get up, after she ran him over with the Subaru, and get back up in his truck? THIS MOVIE SUCKS Don't WATCH IT!!!! IT PISSSED ME OFF WHEN RUSTY NAIL(truck drivers name forgot to mention that earlier) KILLED THE BLOND GIRL LIKE THAT!!!

When the ride is no joy
sakram20 October 2017
No point, no thrilling, no atmosphere, nothing whatsoever. Except for some effects here and there, and fine acting, but anything else ? NO. I wasted my time, I haven't watched the first two parts yet (which are told to be a lot more entertaining with Paul Walker in 'em) but seriously, why did I have to watch this ?

2/10, would definitely burn the DVD if It was mine.

Interesting, take on the series.
shadow_sora9915 June 2014
Warning: Spoilers
It starts off seemingly same as the old ones some people start messing with old rusty here, and he takes his style of revenge upon them. Him making an appearance is something that changes a dynamic a bit with this film, from the beginning point it's something different and leaves a "Hmm wonder what can come from this showcase of him vs him being a shadow figure you don't see." point.

One thing I'm noticing is the other reviews of "They threw just some gravel at him." From that he hunts them down. Well...It's not just a little gravel, it's a good chunk and from that he almost crashes once, then while chasing them the cause him to not only jack knife but stall/over heat his rig...That's a lot more than most have done to his property to date. Plus there is one other note, people note killing just for fun. Ever hear of a killer devolving? He is lashing out at people who did something to him at each time, and now this is a new form of something against him a psychosis that's not something you can just analyze on the fly. If you look at it from an unraveling point of his psyche it's an interesting take that does explain parts of this.

The problems I have with the movie, the plot develops...Slow...There isn't tons of it but what is there is a slow drag through the story, I'm sitting at over an hour in and I'm wondering if much more is going to happen, 5 bodies down, 2 of them at once so took part of it away, another is just a car smash.

The plus side is the kills that are interest are just that interesting, doing things just like the joy ride style of ouch when you watch it happen, the sound effects on one particular kill are just bone crunching goodness.

Part of the ending also kinda made me kinda eh, I know realism isn't something every movie is to come close to, but after being hit by the car that hard, you get up like nothing? Also the car no longer starts? Either you hit the dude that hard and broke bone, or you didn't him that hard and the car is fine.

Over all it's a pop-corn kind of flick, if you're a fan of lower grade horror with some interesting kills, then this is the flick for you. If not then don't watch it really that simple.

Supernatural?
Dave_douell11 March 2019
The movie would have been better if they didn't make the driver and his trucks supernatural. The truck driver could be in several places at once and his trucks were faster than anything on the road and were practically indestructible. I just think they could have made it more believable without losing too much.

On Par With Joy Ride 2: Dead Ahead
vengeance2014 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
So I've finally watched Joy Ride 3: Road Kill & it was a pretty good film, with Declan O'Brien Director of Wrong Turns 4 & 5 I had a feeling the gore would be amped up & I wasn't wrong.

The film follows a group of young adults going to a Race Rally 1000, but after jarring off a trucker on the way, which turns out to be Rusty he soon makes them wish they never annoyed him in the first place!

I found the film to be pretty good. The opening death scene was good & strong. The gore & blood in the film was strong. The story was a little weak & you can see the "angry-trucker-out-for-revenge-over-something-petty" premise start to wear thin here.

But overall it's a good film which I'd say was on par with Joy Ride 2: Dead Ahead. 8/10

WE'LL KNOW MORE ONCE WE GET ALL THE PARTS
nogodnomasters1 August 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The film opens with a five star horror scene with sex, f-bombs, and nudity (Sara Mitch). We discover how much better sex is smoking a glass pipe.. when you have enough. And then road kill. After the credits we get into the main plot as a group of young adults head up to Canada to race their car. They take the infamous Rt. 17 and hit a Rusty Nail (Ken Kirzinger) along the way.

The restaurant scene was great with Barry (David Ferry) spouting off his conspiracy theories about Rt. 17 and the waitress (Heather Hueging). After they hit the road and get to the meat of the film, the character dialogue dies and the film degrades into a middle of the road slasher film.

The film under utilized Kirsten Prout who I would have loved in that opening scene. She has that Taylor Swift/ Anne Kendrick/Marsha Brady appeal and could have at least showered once.

Not that bad....
videodrome123423 August 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Since most horror films just to minimize risk are made on a tight budget a case can be made that since being able to watch films at home came about these films will all be successful. This is also why the most sequels are made for horror films. Cause if they make a little more money than expected, then that success is already so big that it can easily be made into a franchise. Then things changed the larger studios noticed that there is money to be made here. Obviously not as much as they are used to but it will be fine for petty cash. So they started making straight to DVD horror film sequels. They even went as far as not just using their own films as the basis but brought other studios rights too even goings so far as to having the sequel that went straight to video have nothing to do with the original. ie Wild Things 2-3 or Single White Female 2. The films paid for themselves so the practice has been kept alive. We can thank this system for this film too. Its original was the 2001 film Joy Ride with Paul Walker and Steve Zahnn. Basically it was a tight thriller that really only had one problem that despite using a well known story as its basis and transposing that to the then popular "teen world" it really couldn't come up with anything original. Being terrorized on the road is not a new idea, think back to the 86 The Hitcher, but anyway it was a watchable film. In 2008 the second part came out only on DVD and it was unfortunately a flop. It was boring and it screamed low budget and lack of ideas. And now 6 years latter with the 3rd part…. The story… Rusty Nail is back on the road again looking to punish injustice at every turn - and this time it's with a group of hotheaded street racers on their way to the Road Rally 1000 Canada. As they drive through a desolate shortcut on the way to the race, an encounter with Rusty turns sour and soon he is tracking, teasing and torturing them until the end of the road. First off surprisingly the film isn't that bad. There are a few reasons for this. First Fox allocated the necessary funds to not make it lame. Then they left the direction and the script up to someone who has proved themselves with sequels before Declan O'Brian who is known for Wrong Turn 4-5 and they weren't bad. He did a good job on them. Of course don't expect a life changer, but despite the fact that it's a part 3 it is pretty good. I mean the script is pretty basic, but it would be out of this world unreal if it wasn't. And you really can stomach the actors too. Especially Ken Kirzinger in the role of the truck driver who was Jason in Freddy vs. Jason. Oh and the film is pretty bloody, and the slasher scenes are depicted well, there's one with a hand which looks really good and one with someone getting tied to a truck. Of course the film could still be empty despite these but it ends up being nerve wracking and exciting, but this is all relative. Obviously it doesn't come close to the 1st part and even that was lukewarm but at least that had a story. Anyway all in all its exciting, bloody and if you liked the 1st one you'll probably be okay with this one too. To me it was an average film so I give it a 5/10. https://www.youtube.com/user/Videodromeblog

Awful.. Awful.. Awful!
squici28 April 2016
Bad character development, bad dialogue, overall badly written script. The acting was also bad and poorly directed. The directing was awful and the cinematography.. Well not to criticize the hard working people on the film, i'll just put it on the lack of vision of the director and/or producers. Come to think of it the only OK thing in the whole movie was the gore killing and even with that I didn't find myself thrilled, scared or excited. The movie didn't give me any emotion at all.

I don't know how I went through all of the movie, the only reason might be that there was nothing else better on TV.

I really disliked the movie and I don't recommend watching it, but hey i'm not a fan of the franchise. This is my subjective and disappointed opinion.
