On a warm afternoon in March, I meet the members of the band Laundry Day at a studio space in Brooklyn as they rehearse their latest single, “Why Is Everyone a DJ?,” a raucous rock ballad about the epidemic of DJs hitting the nation. It’s the night before they head to Europe to open for Teezo Touchdown on a stretch of his EU tour, and there’s a palpable sense of excitement in the room. Like many of their new fans, Teezo found out about Laundry Day via their...

It’s a good season to be a stick, especially for those on Sesame Street, as Noah Kahan guests in a new clip from the show’s 55th season. Watch it below.
The 44-second clip sees an anthropomorphic stick thanking Kahan for putting twigs everywhere in the spotlight, before ultimately going back to his “day job” of being thrown around for a game of fetch. Kahan doesn’t say much in the sneak peek, though he does close the teaser by singing, “I love Sesame, but it’s the season of the sticks.”

Kahan supplemented the Sesame Street clip with a post of his own, sharing pictures of him chumming it up with the likes of Cookie Monster and Elmo. “Kicking it with some old New York friends,” Kahan wrote in the caption before calling the experience “one of the best days of [his] life.”

Noah Kahan is back with the latest Stick Season re-release: a fresh cut of “Homesick” featuring a new verse from Sam Fender.
First announced earlier this week, the augmented version of “Homesick” follows a series of duet cuts Kahan has shared commemorating the one-year anniversary of Stick Season’s 2022 release, including collaborations with Gracie Abrams, Hozier, Kacey Musgraves, Lizzy McAlpine, and Post Malone.
Now, the duet version of “Homesick” builds upon the nostalgic reflection of the original thanks to a new verse from Fender, detailing his upbringing in Newcastle, England. In lengthy press statements, the artists explained how the collaboration grew out of a mutual respect that they had for each other.
“I come from a very different place than Sam did… but it felt like I had grown up the same,” Kahan said. “The nostalgia, pride, bitterness, confusion, and anger that Sam wrote about feeling was so similar to...

Margo Price has readied a follow-up to her January album Strays, naturally dubbed Strays II. She’ll roll out the sequel project in three acts culminating in a double album due out October 13th, and also embark on a tour of the UK and US this fall. What’s more, the three songs comprising Act I: Topanga Canyon are out now.
Strays had a pretty mystical origin story involving a psychedelic trip to the South Carolina countryside, and Price wrote some of the music that would become Strays II during the same excursion. Before combining the two projects into a double LP, the nine songs on the second record will initially be shared as three acts known as Topanga Canyon, Mind Travel, and Burn Whatever’s Left.
Out today is Strays II’s Act I: Topanga Canyon, featuring the tracks “Strays,” “Closer I Get (ft. Ny Oh),” and “Malibu (ft.

There were a lot of different doubts swirling around singer-songwriter Noah Kahan’s breakthrough single “Stick Season.” There were doubts about its quality after he first uploaded it to TikTok, doubts about whether anyone outside of Vermont would relate to the song, and doubts about whether he even needed to finish the tune after a lone verse from the brisk folk track caught on.

Breaking Infinity is the kind of film I both love and dread seeing on my review schedule. I love it because indie science fiction is frequently full of interesting ideas and concepts that bigger-budget films don’t deal with. I hate it because, often due to their indie budgets, they can’t do those ideas justice. This film had created a bit of a buzz on its festival run, but could it live up to the hype?
Liam lies in a hospital bed as an old man shouts at him to wake up. He does, briefly appearing in a burning building before finding himself back in the hospital where he passes out only to wake up as a different, less injured, version of himself in a different version of the hospital.

Because he’s won “The Voice” eight times, Blake Shelton has a lot of different feathers in his cap. Among them is his ability to nurture the budding talents of teenage artists. Among his three artists entering the season 22 finale on Monday and Tuesday night is Brayden Lape, the small town singer from Michigan that was only 15 years old when he auditioned for the show. If Brayden wins, he’d be Team Blake’s third teenager to win and the seventh overall in series history.

Troll opens with a young girl and her father rock climbing in the reputed home of Norway’s trolls. When the girl professes her disbelief her father tells her to look with her heart not with her eyes and sure enough, faces become visible in the rock formations.
Twenty years later Nora is now a palaeontologist and has just made an important find. Before she can even celebrate a military helicopter arrives with orders to take her to Oslo on a matter of national security. Workers excavating a tunnel through one of those mountains have woken something up. Something big, and not very friendly. That we can see during the Facetime call that the wireless network is called Homesick is one of many small moments of craft in a film full of them. The package contains a letter, a mask. It might be an accident that as it's removed from the Usps box mailer a cotton-white packing peanut, extruded, expanded, dead, falls from the maw of that unstaring face. It's still in the film, a moment that in retrospect and with plenty of company would leave me as open-mouthed. In fine beaded rows are serried ranks of colour but it is in color-lines that Rooted finds incredible power.
The corridor outside the apartment is still, completely so, a static camera perpendicular to the door down that sterile hall. It will later be frenetic, panicked, rushing over the polished tile or linoleum. What is underfoot, the roots.
Sean Addo's film has supernatural elements but its quality is.
