- Two young boys capture a ghostly couple having sex on their video camera. One of the boys questions the other about his virginity.
- As the father loses his faith in god, he starts walking around in sloppy sleeveless shirts and a bathrobe, and having an affair with one of the members of his congregation.
- Some nudity; in one scene a number of naked devil-worshippers strip a man's clothes off and tie him to a bed so that a demon can perform a ritual.
- People kiss and hug, sometimes intimately but mostly just to show affection.

- A lot of fighting and arguing; Jhonnie is visibly traumatized and upset having to watch his parents slowly splitting up.

- The intro features a crazy man murdering a little boy.
- Prejudice towards the more diverse members of the church congregation is displayed by the group of older people who run the church, although Father Jeremiah wants to welcome everyone regardless.
