The sound for the movie was recorded using binaural recording techniques and at time required Josh to wear a helmet with 3D audio microphones in it. This was a first for an Australian film.
On day 1 of shooting Josh Shipton's eye became infected from the contact lenses. Doctors said he risked losing his sight if he wears them again.
Over 6,000 flat bed scans were shot for the stop-motion animation sequences which took 3 weeks to complete.
