Some really interesting seldom seen footage...though far from a great documentary about the brothers.

Any documentary about the Marx Brothers is bound to be interesting...and this one was. But it also was weak in several ways. The narration was pretty flat, many of the clips were of very poor quality and the film really didn't give you much of a feeling who any of the Marx Brothers were other than Groucho. On the positive side, however, you will see a lot of unusual footage...stuff most big fans have never even seen. Plus, towards the end it featured something which makes it all worth seeing...a recording of the very melodious and sophisticated voice of Harpo! It was nothing at all like I expected!

By the way, the film said that "A Day at the Races" was a sequel to "A Night at the Opera"....well, this simply isn't true. It followed the other film but in no way was a sequel....none.

Watch it for the footage

This is the usual documentary. Boring, spoken in an uniform voice with nothing beyond the usual Wikipedia article. The footage is the best part.
