A mistake they continue to make is with the X.Y. and Z doors. In the opening scenes the second in command comes into a space where the captain is by coming through a closed door marked Z. Doors marked with a Z are to be kept open until "Condition Z" is announced. Under normal sailing conditions all these doors are open, but conditions Xray, Yankee, and Zulu are announced to protect the ship by closing these doors based on the severity of the condition. Condition Xray being with some but not all doors closed, with Yankee and Zulu having progressively more doors closed; until the ship is completely watertight with all watertight doors closed. Only water tight doors are labeled in this way. So the door that the second in command came through should have been opened and not have been closed; since no condition Zulu was in force at the time.
It is stated that there are about 3000 gallons (11000 liters) of water on the ship. CO and XO discuss and they say that they can't exist six days because in the last two days there wouldn't be anymore water. If there are about 220 people on the ship, everyone has 12 liters, so drinking 2 liters per day (I think it's more than enough), they wouldn't have any problem for at least 6 days.
"Camellia sinensis" is not some special kind of tea, as Dr. Scott erroneously states, but the taxonomical name of the tea plant itself. ALL black and green teas are camellia sinensis; the differences in flavors are a matter of growing climate, preparation and fermentation of the leaves.
