We'll Get There...Well Maybe Some of Us
PartialMovieViewer14 July 2014
Warning: Spoilers
The CO has got his hands full this time. The engines are so broken they don't even have impulse power. With the turbines being down, the ship's desalinization plant can't make fresh water. And that pathetic bottom-feeding spy (Dr Scott's trusted ???? assistant) is still alive and mooching off the free food. Damn it Jim...I am not a physician or a magician, I am just a friggin' viewer.

The USS Nathan James is in for a rough week. What a horrible mess the ship is in now. This means no showers, no shaving, no flushing toilets, no bug juice and – worst of all, no yummy coffee. A ship without coffee is like a ship without a moral compass. On top of all this crap, Scottie is malingering in medical. She seems to be sick but I think she is just plain feeling kind of blue. Poor kid, if it was up to me, I would give her a medal or better yet, a tribble. That's it, she needs a tribble, that would definitely brighten her day. But damn it, there are no tribbles in this episode. The CHENG just needs to shake off whatever is bothering her and get down to engineering and fix her damned ship. Oh the agony. Well – alas - that just ain't going to happen…her dilithium crystals are all broken up like the rest of the ship. Wow, am I ever befuddled. I need a serious mind-meld. Without Scotty, who will fix the ship? Who will save the day? Who?

Not to worry…engineering has an Ace up their sleeve. Kind of a diamond in the rough if you may. It took a bit, but someone finally lit a fire under the Main Propulsion Assistant (MPA)'s butt. I thought the guy was a real slacker at first. But I was wrong. The guy really stepped up his game and took over for his boss. Of course I don't want to get too far ahead with praising the guy. He kind of caused all these problems in the first place. So he is a bit of a goof. But in the end, he did come through and saved the day. With those heroic actions, I think the man is well deserving of a solid Bravo Zulu and maybe even a medal - or maybe even two?

Phew…that was some really serious goings on. Maddening really. You would think that was enough bad stuff for a week. Oh silly you...there is more. I must start this phase off with a question. A serious one at that. What in blazes is going on with Dr. Scott? I thought she was coming around. You know. Getting along with the crew; starting to look beyond her mirror and all that. Apparently not. I guess she started self medicating again with her, 'It's all about me', meds.' She wasn't really that bad. She does need to tone down the wining a bit - it can be really irritating. I understand the squeaky wheel concept, and she is working on a cure…pffft…but so am I. You don't hear me bragging about how smart I am. Sheesh.

Again this was a pretty good show. I did enjoy this week's episode. Sadly, I do have to mark one point off for not blowing up bad guys, but I also have to give a point for originality and the clever use of parachutes. My reality button has been disconnected, and I embrace the fantasy. Another good job – an 8 out of 10.
