Roy Ambriz's thesis film for the Cinema And Television Degree in Centro, Mexico City.
Jorge Bolado (Friar Bernardino) is the Headmaster of the Cinema And Television Degree in Centro, where most of the crew studied. Fernando Rendón (Spaniard Rufario) is the director's cousin.
The axolotl is a central theme in the film. These are endemic amphibians from Mexico City that reach adulthood without undergoing metamorphosis. This fact inspired the director to create a film about not knowing if change is needed or not.
Inspired in the work of Friar Bernardino De Sahagún and other chroniclers of The New Spain.
Filmed in the Xochimilco Canals in Mexico City. The name "Xochimilco" comes from Nahuatl and means "flower field." This referred to the many flowers and other crops that were grown here on chinampas since the Pre-Hispanic period. (From Wikipedia)
