For those of you who’ve been following Legends of Tomorrow this fall, you may agree with me in saying that the current season is on track to being the best yet. Not only is the cast gelling more perfectly than ever before, but the writers have found a nice balance between humor and drama, while also crafting one of the best superhero shows on airwaves – and this is coming from a guy who’d been highly critical of past efforts.
So, if you’ve been keeping up, then you’re well aware of how mysticism seems to be the backbone of season 3, with the name “Mallus” already having been subtly dropped. And if you’re giving your big bad a moniker that intimidating, then you’d better find an actor who can bring the proper gravitas.
Well, it looks like the casting department did their job, because none other than John Noble (Fringe,...

The Nintendo Switch gets its own major Super Mario game, but is it an essential purchase? We delve into Super Mario Odyssey...
When Nintendo’s athletic mascot celebrated his 30th anniversary in 2015, the event coincided with the release of the charming Super Mario Maker. But as likeable and fun as that Mario construction kit was, it arguably lacked the sense of occasion surrounding a major series entry like Super Mario Galaxy or Super Mario 64. Super Mario Odyssey, on the other hand, feels like a true celebration for such a legendary character.

While Gotham certainly hasn’t shied way from utilizing familiar villains such as the Penguin, Riddler and Mr. Freeze, I’ve found it quite refreshing to see them embrace those newer to the mythos like the Court of Owls. And while we’re certainly excited to see whatever a fully realized Scarecrow has in store for the Gcpd this fall, it’s hard not to squeal upon hearing that Professor Pyg will be showing up as well.

Publishers and license holders must absolutely love throwing money down the drain because if they didn’t, this feature wouldn’t have a leg to stand on. Unequivocal cancellations rank right up there with microtransactions on the unspoken list of most reviled practices in all of gamedom, and yet, for an outsider looking in, it appears that the men in suits never learn from the lessons that previous instances of premature game death should have taught them.
For the sake of clarity, there’s a clear-cut difference between those titles that are canceled or pulled from sale for very good reason – the PC versions of Batman: Arkham Knight and Injustice 2 immediately come to mind – and those that, for all intents and purposes, look like perfectly serviceable streams of code worthy of being printed on a disc, ready to be shipped across the planet.

If it wasn't for the Writers' Strike of 2007, we may have already seen a Justice League film, featuring Armie Hammer as Batman. Ten years ago, Justice League: Mortal was in the works, with a cast including D.J. Controna as Superman, Megan Gale as Wonder Woman, Common as Green Lantern, Adam Brody as Flash, and Santiago Cabrera as Aquaman. George Miller, who most recently directed Mad Max: Fury Road, was set to helm the picture, and though the film never made it past pre-production, as was the case with Superman Lives, the all important costumes were designed, and even tested out, by the cast!
Screenrant sat down with Armie Hammer recently, asking the Man from U.N.C.L.E. and Lone Ranger star if he had the chance to try out the Batman armor designed for Justice League: Mortal:
“Oh yeah, for sure. I put on the whole suit.

In the past year, DC has pulled of several coups, specifically when it comes to signing talent such as Bruno Redondo, Liam Sharp, Andy Kubert, Javier Fernandez, Jorge Jiménez, Amanda Conner, James Tynion IV and Dan Abnett to exclusivity deals. And by that, we mean each listed creator can work on content published by only DC or Vertigo for a specified amount of time.
Their latest acquisition is good news for avid readers of Action Comics – and we’ll certainly tell you why in a matter of moments – as none other than artist Viktor Bogdanovic is the latest to be welcomed to the fold. Having cut his teeth on miniseries such as Batman: Arkham Knight and Suicide Squad Most Wanted: Deadshot, it wasn’t long before the publisher moved him to ongoing titles, which he recently reminisced on:

It has become a tradition in the Batman Cinematic Universe that the Batmobile get either subtle or distinct changes between each film. A couple of days ago Zach Snyder confirmed that the Batmobile will have some changes made to it for the new Justice League film. Zach posted an image of the front of the Batmobile with the caption "Upgrades... what are you worried about Wayne." obviously referencing to the new fire power added to the Batmobile. Below is a side by side image of the Batmobile from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and the one Snyder just shared from Justice League.

After a tease by NetherRealm Studios Creative Director Ed Boon on Friday, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has officially announced when Injustice 2 will launch, revealing that the highly-anticipated sequel will land on May 16, 2017.

To most eyes, it seemingly confirmed the May 16 launch date for the sequel. However, if you’ve followed Boon during the production of past NetherRealm Studios’ projects, sometimes things are not as obvious as they appear. Thankfully, Warner Bros. PR quickly came out and confirmed the date.

While the sequel will retain many of the same gameplay concepts from its predecessor, the title does bring some new features to the game. Rocksteady Studios may have concluded its involvement in the series (Batman: Arkham Vr excluded) with last year’s Batman: Arkham Knight, but it appears as if Warner Bros. isn’t quite ready to hang up the cowl just yet. According to a report published by Kotaku, sources have told the site that a long-rumored (and unannounced) title based on the Suicide Squad name has been canned, with development having been transferred to a new Batman game instead. However, assuming the rumors to be true, this particular outing won’t feature Bruce Wayne as the title character, but rather Damian Wayne – Bruce and Talia al Ghul’s son.
According to Kotaku, the cancelled Suicide Squad game had been in development for two straight years, with Warner Bros. putting a halt to its production after it failed to impress during early demonstrations. The unconfirmed Batman title that appears to be taking its...

Though Rocksteady’s swan song, Batman: Arkham Knight, swooped onto consoles and PC earlier in the year, fans of the Caped Crusader can still look forward to the one-two punch of Batman: Return to Arkham and the Psvr-exclusive Batman: Arkham Vr launching before the year’s end. The latter of which is handheld by Rocksteady and may go down as the studio’s final entry into the Arkham series, according to Producer Dax Ginn.
Chatting to Eurogamer at last weekend’s Egx 2016, Ginn reflected on ten years of crafting top-tier superhero titles – Rocksteady’s Batman games are often cited as some of the best the genre has ever produced, and rightfully so – before revealing that, at least for now, the studio has been afforded some breathing space by Warner Bros. before settling on its next creative venture. If it hasn’t already, that is.

The Xbox One S has finally arrived on shop shelves today, and despite Microsoft saying that the device offers a negligible performance boost over its larger sibling, it appears that, for certain games, the opposite is true. According to a detailed report published by Digital Foundry, titles that don’t have locked frame rates or utilize dynamic resolutions have noticeably improved quality in certain areas.
In particular, the article records that both Project Cars and Hitman have higher frame rates on the One S, while the likes of Batman: Arkham Knight and Rise of the Tomb Raider endure a reduced amount of screen tearing. Explaining how the superior performance is possible, senior director of marketing and planning Albert Panello told Digital Foundry that:
By making this change, developers creating Hdr titles do not have to incur any performance hit. We also decided to make the extra six per cent available to all titles.

It originated in the deep, dark wilds of the Internet, and has been a fan theory that has persisted all the way during the production of Suicide Squad: that Jared Leto’s Joker is actually Jason Todd, the second Robin to fight at Batman’s side who died at the hands of the Clown Prince of Crime. It was a pretty convincing theory, backed up by eagled eyed fans noticing one of The Joker’s tattoo’s included a Robin, he had similar scars to holes in Jason Todd’s graffiti covered Robin costume from Batman v Superman, and around the same time the saga of Jason Todd was being played out in video game form in Batman: Arkham Knight. Sadly, it turns out not to be true, with Suicide Squad director David Ayer in an interview with Wsvn-tv (and reported by THR) shut down the theory by turning to camera,...

At Comic-Con this weekend, the actress actually suited up as Harley, and it's fair to say that she could give Suicide Squad's big sceen version - played by Margot Robbie - a real run for her money! Strong has dressed up as Harley before of course, but here she's wearing the costume from Batman: Arkham Knight. Fans were disappointed to hear the news, but to their surprise, Mark Hamill made his grandiose return as the Joker in the final chapter of the Batman Arkham trilogy, Batman: Arkham Knight. Ever since the release of Batman: Arkham Knight, Hamill has been adamant that the only time he'd ever voice the Joker again would be if Warner Bros. and DC should make an animated feature of Alan Moore's graphic novel, Batman: The Killing Joke. It wasn't much of a surprise when Hamill would once again announce his return as the Joker for the upcoming animated feature. However, with Hamill completing his promise, it seems like his reign as the Joker is truly over,...

Batman doesn't kill. That has been a mantra for the comic character for many years, but the various screen incarnations have often either ignored that rule (1989's "Batman") or found loopholes (2005's "Batman Begins," the "Batman: Arkham Knight" game) to get around that rule.
Not so the version of Batman that Ben Affleck played in Zack Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice". A new video is out from Mr. Sunday Movies which clocks up a kill count from the film's 'Ultimate Edition' disc release and it seems this Caped Crusader loves just killing the s--t out of bad guys.
In fact, Affleck's Batman directly racks up a bodycount of 21 people throughout the film, not including whomever was left in those hastily evacuated buildings that got torn to shreds in the final act. Is that a lot? Across all seven previous live-action movies and the 1966 TV show, Batman killed 45 people.

Warner Interactive has delayed the Batman: Return To Arkham compilation, originally due out next month, with no new date set...
Batman: Arkham Knight provided a superb final hurrah for Rocksteady's series of Caped Crusader action games, but even they'd admit that its launch could've gone better. Indeed, the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight was so disastrous that Warner Interactive was forced to take the unusual step of withdrawing it from sale; even when a patch emerged, months after its initial release, Arkham Knight still contained all kinds of distracting glitches.
There are signs, however, that Warner may be learning from at least a few of its past mistakes. Batman: Return To Arkham, a current-gen, remastered compilation of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, was originally supposed to be out on the 29th July - but Warner has announced that its release has been delayed. Batman: Arkham Asylum blew both fans and casual gamers away by not only presenting an amazing game, but also revolutionising the superhero genre and proving that a solid title could be produced within it. It wasn’t just the engaging story, but also the realistic combat and stealth systems that put players in the mind of one of the greatest superheroes ever created. In a lot of ways, it held the same impact as Batman Begins.
The critical and commercial success set up the game’s developers, RockSteady, for a surefire sequel which came in 2011 as Batman: Arkham City. Both Arkham Asylum and Blackgate Prison have been shutdown, their prisoners relocated to a mass containment camp called Arkham City. So many great changes were done to make the game feel like a worthy successor, such as the ability to use gadgets in combat and more takedown options during predator.
