Wow!

I'll say this again... why all this negativity? Some people just love to hate. First off, this was not made by Disney, it was made by the same cast and crew who did the original series that was being produced by Mr Lucas himself. Second off, just an incredible episode. Love it!

Lessons for Yoda
A_Kind_Of_CineMagic6 October 2020
This is a majorly impactful story which adds hugely to the lore and the background of the overall story. It deepens Yoda's character arc and explains some of the decision making including giving some background for why Yoda decides to go into hiding and wait for 'A New Hope'. So much depth and thought provoking, ambitious ideas are in this episode and the arc it brings to a climax.

Tim Curry took over the role of Palpatine/Sidious for this season and did a superb job. His performance here in particular shines and his mellifluous, malevolent tones add huge quality to the scenes.

Yoda as a character is given a real chance to be explored depply and it strengthens what a great character he is. It also gives meaning to some of his apparent failures.

A tremendous episode.

My rating: 10/10.

Wow 2...the sequel
newmanbk25 February 2021
This delves so deep into Yoda's story and illuminates the whole Dagobah thing that is revealed in Empire Strikes Back. It explains Yoda's later appearances after he has passed-on in the most recent full length films.

It shows Yoda's weaknesses and strengths all at once. Wholly newfound respect for his character after many seasons of the same old Yoda's.

P.S. No character has seen more, been to more places and accompanied and helped more characters than R2D2. He IS Star Wars. He holds every story, big and small. Knows planets and secrets and corners of the galaxy like no one else. Crazy to think that Vader was so close with him. As close as Luke or Leia. Trusted by Yoda. Ashoka.

Incredible, and very telling

Warning: Spoilers
This showed Yoda realizing the flaws within the Jedi order, that the stringent rules had caused them to lose their way in politics and war, and that the darkness within them couldn't be ignored and pushed away. As Ashoka said in Rebels "As the Clone War dragged on he carried a great burden, a deep sorrow, as if he knew before anyone, that one time was ending, and another beginning."

Originally, the finale to the show
evansjoshyr4 January 2021
Before the new season this was seen as the finale for the show and while it has an open ended nature to it, I like it. Remember clone wars is just a piece in the star wars jigsaw and is a great character for the show to end on.

I am surprisingly content

Warning: Spoilers
I went in knowing this was an allegedly final season before Disney would go on to make one more. I was not expecting closure, especially in the way we got it.

Yoda is a great character. I don't know that I could have said that becomes Ewing this season of this show. I always liked him, but he actually gets quite a bit of character development in this arc. It shows he is imperfect, that he has a dark side he has to ignore and resist as well. It's good to see someone painting him in a light where he isn't perfect.

I loved all of the nods to the extended Star Wars lore as well, specially Darth Bane and the whole immortality thing. This whole arc was an absolute delight. Bravo.
