Season after season, Sex and the City fans watched their four Cosmopolitan ladies date a string of losers. Even Samantha Jones, best known for treating sex like a competitive sport, managed to bed a couple of duds. Despite all of that, there were good men in the mix. Charlotte York’s second husband, Harry Goldenblatt, is a great example. Some fans would insist Carrie Bradshaw’s first fiance, Aidan Shaw, was one of the good ones, too. Finally, Samantha’s Smith Jerrod was the perfect man to get Samantha to settle down. Still, we could argue that two rejected Sex and the City love interests were actually the most respectful of their partners. Trey MacDougal and Aleksandr Petrovsky were tossed aside far too soon. They also tend to get a bad rap.

Sex and the City had many intense and incredibly interesting side characters. Some showed up in more than one episode, but most guest characters appeared just once. Even one-time appearances left a mark on the series and helped elevate the show. No guest star had more of an impact on Sex and the City fans than Lexi Featherston, though. The boisterous party girl appeared in just a single seaosn 6 episode and died in it. The character wasn’t made up. At least she wasn’t entirely fictitious. Lexi Featherston was based on a famous Manhattan club owner. The series also mentioned that real-life club she owned, but two seasons earlier than Lexi’s appearance.

In her 2007 essay “The world as India”, American writer Susan Sontag highlighted how English, the “language of the conqueror”, still shapes Indian society, especially with regard to the world of work. One of her examples to prove her thesis deals with the nature of call centers where Indian employees have taken over an American identity along with English spoken in a distinct American accent in order to disguise their “Indianness”. The idea of pretended familiarity for the mostly American callers has had a somewhat disturbing influence on the workers in these call centers, some of which state they much rather would be this “Nancy” or “George” character they are playing when they take a call. In his short film “Coffee Shop Names” writer and director Deepak Sethi also explores these ideas of identity and culture using a similar modern setting, albeit with a rather comedic approach.

An intriguing concept can be enough to pull you into a film, but what keeps you there is a sense of purpose and steadfast execution. Korean indie Coffee Noir: Black Brown, the third film from emerging talent Jang Hyun-sang, which premiered last month in competition at Bucheon, delivers on all three counts. This delightful and odd prohibition drama is grounded by Jo Soo-hyang, whose performance remains unwavering, even when some of the story threads around her don't quite mesh. Coffee shop manager Ju-won runs a tight ship and is revered by her staff, but their lives are about to change because of a new law coming into effect that will outlaw coffee in Korea. Despite the prying eyes of local inspectors and pressure from a...

Ross, Rachel, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler and Monica are reuniting, as an off-Broadway musical based on Friends is in the works!
Thanks to composers Bob and Tobly McSmith, the beloved NBC sitcom is getting a parody reboot officially titled Friends! The Musical, set to be staged at the Triad Theatre in New York City.
Watch: Justin Theroux Shares Rare Selfie With Jennifer Aniston in Paris: 'In Louvre'
The McSmiths are the masterminds behind a number of musical parodies, including Bayside! the Musical!, 90210! The Musical!, Katdashians! The Musical!, and Full House! The Musical!, so we have no doubt this one will be just as great (and hilarious, of course).
Although the musical isn't scheduled to open until fall 2017, the full song list is already here, and references some of the best lines and moments from the series. See below:

We chat with the show’s production designer about everything from ‘The Leftovers’ to Andy Warhol.
Brian Yorkey’s 13 Reasons Why begins in a high school hallway but doesn’t stay there. Its branches can be felt in every inch of the Northern California suburban town. Adapting Jay Asher’s bestselling Thirteen Reasons Why into a 13-episode series that Netflix dropped last weekend, the series explores the world surrounding Hannah, a teenager (Katherine Langford) who kills herself, and Clay (Dylan Minnette), a friend whose relationship to the deceased is among the show’s central ambiguities.
To some, framing what feels like a Twin Peaks-esque murder-mystery around an issue like suicide comes off as dangerous. Hank Stuever, of the Washington Post, called it “an especially cruel experience.” But suicide, the third leading cause of death for young people aged 15 to 24, has long been a fixture in teen literature, from Sharon Draper’s award-winner Tears of a Tiger...

I’m wondering if there was some kind of trademark issue with this creation because the Lego set you see above you is technically called “Buddies” but make no mistake about it. This is Central Perk from the show Friends. In fact it’s an extremely detailed Central Perk from Friends. Even the ad for the set says “I’ll be there for you” and “Central Perk” in the description. To be clear this is Not a Lego product. This is a custom built Lego room from Tom Young, who sells is own custom Lego creations. Officially, this is the “Buddies Coffee Shop,”

Things were quiet around 3:05 Pm on Tuesday at the Miracle Mile construction site of the film academy’s new movie museum. Along Wilshire Blvd., a passer-by was enjoying what seemed to be a puff of medical marijuana. On Fairfax, a guy with no shirt or shoes dangled from the sidewalk scaffold, then wandered across the street toward Johnie’s Coffee Shop, where a multi-colored Bernie Sanders mural still graces the side. Inside the construction fence, giant concrete pilings…...

It’s been two decades since “Heat” came out, and quite frankly there are few other movies from 1995 that people are still talking about. Which, if for some unholy reason you still haven’t seen it, certainly should say enough to get you to sit down with Michael Mann’s seminal crime film. The fact of the matter is that Mann’s film, which pits Robert De Niro and Al Pacino against one another in a deadly game of cat and mouse, is a propulsive, thundering achievement for a genre that can so often feel rote and over worn.

Johnie's Coffee Shop sits front-and-center on the congested Fairfax Avenue/Wilshire Boulevard street corner, usually empty. But, over the weekend, the Los Angeles landmark has found new patronage in supporters of Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. A grassroots Sanders group, known as Bernie's Avengers, has taken over the Mid-City mainstay to connect all of the Sanders activist groups of L.A., like Team Bernie La, Compton for Bernie and Nurses for Bernie. "We hope to get exposure for the Bernie Sanders campaign without having him spend his campaign money," Jeremy White, an organizer for Bernie's Avengers, tells

James Dean would have turned 85 years old on Monday. Feb. 8. Of course, Dean died in an automobile crash on Sept. 30, 1955. He was only 24 years old at the time, meaning that he's been dead almost three times as long as he was alive, yet the image of the heartthrob star still persists - uniquely among stars of his era and uniquely among stars who died young. He still appears on posters, in magazines and in representations on film, and young people today might well know who he is, even if they've never seen one of his movies. “Nathan For You” is an absolutely brilliant show on Comedy Central where Nathan Fielder finds struggling business and hatches plans to help them succeed. Let’s be honest. His ideas are ridiculous, way out there, and utterly crazy but occasionally he does strike gold and come up with some truly great ideas.
5. Man Cave at Women’s Stores
I think most men would actually love this idea if the sometimes creepy Nathan wasn’t staring at them to make sure they were having a good time. In this campaign, Nathan sets up a man cave in a popular women’s clothing store so that the boyfriend or husband of female shoppers can have somewhere to hangout while they meander. He even gives them beer and sportsball.
I would even love to hang out in there (minus the sportsball and weird sex talk. Is that part mandatory?). I think a lot...
