- The tale of Guendalina was passed down verbally until 1600 when a collector of stories put down on paper what now had become legend. Guendalina was different, she was born with albinism, which in that era was a symbol of witches and demons and she would have ended up by being put to death at the stake. Her father hid her in their Castle and her mother dyed her hair in order to protect her. Unfortunately, the sunlight turned her dyed hair blue. Thus was born the myth of "Azzurrina". On 21 June 1375, the ball of rags that Azzurrina was playing with ended up in a mound of snow. With a bloodcurdling scream, she disappeared into thin air, without ever being found. Every five years since then, Guendalina makes her voice heard.—Everlyn Fazzini
- A newly wed couple dare each other to spend a night in the castle of Montebello to meet the ghost. The boys follow the guided tour in the castle and then, at closing time, they hide and remain closed within the walls for an entire night. A couple of paranormal experts also remain with them in search of proof of Azzurrina's phantom existence. But this decision does not turn out to be a good idea... On 21 June 1375, the ball of rags that Azzurrina was playing with ended up in a mound of snow. With a bloodcurdling scream, she disappeared into thin air, without ever being found. Every five years since then, Guendalina makes her voice heard. The legend of Azzurrina is set in 1375 and speaks for the daughter of Uguccione di Montebello, owner of the homonymous castle. The girl was born with albinism, a congenital malformation that involves the total absence of melanin in the tissues and, therefore, of pigment. Since albinism was seen at the time as a direct link to demonic acts, the girl's mother always dyed her hair black to protect her from popular rumors. The extreme volatility of the colors of the time, however, meant that the color faded almost immediately and that the girl's hair was colored with a particular blue, from which the nickname. Uguccione did not allow the girl to leave the castle and had her guarded twenty-four hours a day by his two trusted guards. It seems that one night, during a terrible storm, the little girl was playing with a ball of rags, which the wind tumbled down the stairs to the castle's underground icebox. The girl ran to pick her up, falling disastrously, but when the guards looked out to look for her, they found no trace. It was the summer solstice and the storm ceased with his disappearance. Legend has it that his spirit was trapped in the castle and returns to be heard every 5 years, coinciding with the summer solstice.
