I hate how almost all magical girl anime shows released during the last years are no longer aimed at a female audience, but at horny guys instead, featuring some rather stupid, edgy plots.
Magical Girl shows like Sailor Moon and Card Captor Sakura were part of my childhood; they were wholesome shows for girls that were "empowering" while at the same time embracing femeinity as something not be ashamed of. Just like the boys had their shonen anime like Dragon Ball Z, or Yugioh, or Naruto, the girls had their magical girl shows.
But then Madoka magica had to ruin everything with its trite, forced "deconstruction" and many sexist haters of the genre admited that, because they believe absolutely everything should be aimed at them (They are the type of people who were angry because the new She-Ra was not hypersexualized) and claimed the vastly overrated Madoka was the "best" magical girl show, unlike those "girly, dumb" shows they hate and know nothing about. (Just for the record, Sailor Moon is just as "edgy" as stuff like One Piece, pretending otherwise is only based in some sort of sexist bias)
Anyway, Corrector Yui was also another magical girl show I liked a lot back then. It was cute, charming and fun to watch. A lot of edgy anime fans hated it back then, and claimed it was the "worst anime" while also claimed they only watched it because the main character was "hot" (bunch of creeps).
I think it was a nice show for the whole family, and apparently the creator made it for his daughter, which is something pretty endearing, in my opinion.
Girls deserve to have their empowering shows. A lot of those annoying Madoka fans that keep bashing all the other magical girl shows would not like if all their shonen fighting anime was "deconstructed" in order to appeal adult women, nor they would like if those adult women claimed all the shonen anime they like was bad and formulaic.
