seriously confusing
veronicammartin20 July 2015
This is a very confusing film throughout and I was hoping for enlightenment by the end but it didn't come.

A young woman with a heart defect marries a cardiac doctor but soon suspects all is not as it seems.

We are told she has had a poor early life so it isn't her money he's after. She becomes increasingly sick and there is a spooky, weirdo Gothic sister who bears no relevance to ...well anything really! Instead of immediately emailing herself something on the computer the heroine waits to upload it to a memory stick? Why? But it is the rude, unhelpful police who "steal the day". I would have put a complaint in against them for telling me to find them evidence and not following leads, I'd have said that's your job.

I can't say I'd watch this again.

Warning: Spoilers
What's the total involvement of the sister-in-law in this film? You mean that the doctor went berserk when his wife killed herself, he changed his name and got a license to practice medicine under it and then there is a real killing spree? Come on. We may do better than this.

Wife #2 becomes increasingly suspicious as all sorts of mayhem occurs. The next door neighbor's dog is missing, a fellow teacher who drives her home each day is accused of molestation and when the charges are dropped, he dies suddenly of an aneurysm? Then of course, our neighbor is found dead in the doctor's garage?

There is no end to the mayhem and the happiness at the couple's wedding quickly evaporates when the terror begins.

Why were the wives being drugged? Was it a matter of finances or just insanity? Too many loose ends go unanswered here.

Just tell me about the house please!
jioyegun21 July 2015
Disappointing! No drama. But the house was the real star of the show. Pure upper middle class suburbia, the house was like a character in the movie. I kept watching the movie for the house to be honest. Please tell me more about it. Would be really grateful for pictures of the entire house, especially the facade, the interior and garden. Good cast and plausible acting for the most part but weak plot. No suspense. Excellent film and sound quality though so with the great tech and cast it could have been a much stronger movie; it just needed a better script. I'm going to keep a look out for Hayley Duff and Farhad Mann in future. I expect much more from them.

Worst movie

Warning: Spoilers
This is truly, truly bad. So many clichés and obvious tropes. The rich and fairly good looking, but devious doctor that obviously wants to control his new wife and makes vague statements about her "medications".The next thing you know he is gas-lighting her and saying she should go to a psychiatrist. She must be bipolar! Then we see her flush her multiple pill bottles down the toilet. The whole thing screams "low budget", right from the obvious beginning with the neighbor-gardener. Then there is the goth sister who looks like a stereotypical mortician. This may appeal to younger viewers.I do love the scenes of the gorgeous home and the sexy glasses of expensive wine, but the booze is another manipulation by the husband. The funniest part is the fact that the actress who plays the wife is very obviously in the latter stage of her second trimester of pregnancy, if not into the third trimester. Can someone mop the floor? I think my water just broke! Horrendous bunch of slop.

Horrors in the North Woods
lavatch27 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
In "Till Death Do Us Part," there is a lengthy opening scene of the lavish wedding of Dr. Kevin Richardson and Sarah Marks. A lovely ceremony is followed by an extravagant party in which Kevin and Sarah seem like the perfect couple. But after that day, nothing will ever be the same for Dr. and Mrs. Richardson. And in the film as a whole, the wedding sequence is the most fully realized and contains the most convincing moments.

Kevin and Sarah move into their home in the North Woods. Almost instantly, Sarah senses that Kevin is a control freak, and the intrusive presence of her bossy sister-in-law Jolene adds to the stress on Sarah. She also has nightmares in which she is on the receiving end of ghoulish medical treatments by her husband. On top of everything, Sarah has a bum ticker and is being heavily medicated by her cardiologist husband. Sarah eventually learns on Google that she is being administered hallucinogens.

The film was overly unpleasant as Sarah's life was made completely miserable by her deranged husband. There were also major lapses in logic in the screenplay, especially in the details about Kevin's past. He was deeply attached to his first wife Camilla. But something happened that led to her disappearance. But when Sarah confronted Camilla's mother, Mrs. Thek, she was told that Kevin adored Camilla and never hurt her. And in dialogue in the denouement, the detectives state that Kevin did not kill Camilla and that "she's the one that got away."

It was also unclear what exactly was the role played by Jolene in enabling her brother's neurosis. It was never made clear what was in it for Jolene to subject Sarah to a miserable existence and at one point to make an attempt on the life of Sarah's dear Auntie Liz. The police were also inexplicably negligent in failing to investigate the background of Kevin, who fairly recently went by the name of Cunningham.

Overall, the film was a long and messy string of sick acts carried out by Dr. Richardson and his strange sister. The nice gardener Alec Lasky, his beautiful golden retriever Sonny, and the kind teacher Ethan Walker were all senseless casualties that did not serve to advance the narrative other than to make untimely exits due to crazy doctor.

In the end, "Til Death Do Us Part" was a concatenation of horrors that never added up into credible slice of life.

Lousy movie, but the portrayal of the cops was accurate
johnjjingle22 February 2016
This is the most incoherent suspense movie I've ever seen. Veronicammartin's comment, "It is the rude, unhelpful police who 'steal the day'" is spot on.

But I'm afraid she's naive when she says, "I would have put a complaint in against them for telling me to find them evidence and not following leads, I'd have said that's your job." Years ago a tow truck smashed my car while it was parked. Witnesses identified the towing company. My insurance company required the tow truck's registration or they'd charge me the deductible, so I went to the towing company offices. When I asked for the information, the owner pulled a gun on me. I went straight to the nearest police station, but they refused to go back to the towing company with me. They insisted that I had to give them the name of the guy who pulled the gun on me or they wouldn't write up a report. When I asked them how they expected me to get the guy's name, they suggested I go back and ask him! Let's hear it for Boston's "finest".

three stars below zero
romodomo25 September 2021
I think there should be a zero which would mark 'the average' and then up to ten points for ' below the average' They feed us with films that offend our intelligence and sense of art and we are forced to give those films positive points when ,for example, I die inside. Haylle Duff is horrible, but maybe less horrible than Danica McKeller whose voice hurts my ears.

Poor script, but execution was fine
termofor22 March 2022
If you don't have high expectations, this is ok movie. Cast is fine, acting is ok, but the plot is just lame. There are lots of things that are never explained, seems like it was just finished in the rush. It feels like a final scene where everything gets explained is missing. There are not even title cards at the end to explain at least something that was going on. It's not unwatchable, it's ok if you want to kill some time because it holds your attention, but, as I said, don't expect too much.
