The production values on this show are consistently AMATEURISH, to put it kindly. The cameras don't point where you naturally want to look, the editing is heavy-handed and jarring, and the problems with sound are so egregious and repetitive that it seems like this show was left in the hands of high school interns. Repeatedly the dialogue is ridiculously drowned out by an annoying music track: crappy synths and other trite compositions; several times a harsh church organ assaults the ears and the conversations are all but lost as the viewer is forced to lower the volume. I'd have given this show up if not for the compelling content. The judges are kind and likeable - not ego-driven or snarky. A final criticism is that when five bakes are required, the audience would really like to vicariously enjoy that taste of each and hear the assessment on all five - not TWO. Lots of room for improvement here, but the cast & talented bakers keep me watching.

Decent but biased

Binge watched it and enjoyed it at first but the repetition and bias shown to the winners (the only one of the final 4 bakeries who aren't still in business) brought down the rating. Especially egregious was a hint given to the eventual winners during the semi-final that allowed them to complete their bake after failing two or three tries. And the only reason they got that far was an obvious decision that the producers didn't want two French bakeries in the later rounds, so they got advanced over a bakery that produced an amazingly difficult croquembouche which the judges yawned at. Also bringing down the rating was a change in the judging criteria in the finals where the ability to hawk your food at a market (and location given to the eventual winners) over taste became the deciding factor.

I love baking shows

Especially British baking shows. They are always so calm. This show is a few years old but just came up on my fire tv and I've really enjoyed it. I've only disagreed once with the judges but of course I'm not tasting the product.

Has a feel similar to The Great British Baking show. They do feature many styles of baking as well.
