- Neal feels conflicted about scamming an innocent mark while running a con for the Pink Panthers. Meanwhile, Peter is working with a reckless Interpol agent who could put their entire operation in jeopardy.
- We begin this week with preparations for Neal's latest meeting with the Pink Panthers, a world-renowned organization of thieves so difficult to infiltrate it currently has two CIs among its members (but that's none of my business). Peter and the gang figure out Keller must have a local Interpol handler so the plan is to watch from a far and spot their counterpart.
Neal shows up to his Panthers meeting to find it will be only him and Keller. Keller says he's been given a assignment for the two of them to carry out: They're to break into the vault of a company called Atlas Tech and steal a file called Exodus. For the most part that's all Keller knows. Keller's in with Atlas is the CEO's pretty blonde assistant, Amy Harris.
Standing 20 feet away for about five minutes Neal is able to determine Amy is a good person and doesn't want to involve her. But he decides to use her for the plan, primarily so that Keller stays away from her. Pretending to be a chef Neal quickly wins her trust. Keller poses as a creep, allowing Neal to save the day and pushing him and Amy closer. They plan to have dinner.
Peter locates Keller's Interpol handler. He's a French dude named Luc who doesn't seem all that interested in working hand-in-hand with the FBI.
Peter, Neal, Luc and Keller all meet at Neal's apartment. Peter take control and tells Luc if Interpol won't work with the FBI they won't be part of taking down the Panthers at all.
Elizabeth is having concerns Peter's dangerous job means he won't be around to help raise their child.
Neal takes advantage of Keller by having him pose as an obvious fake security guard at Atlas. When Neal surprises Amy at her desk with lunch, she notices him and goes into the vault to make sure nothing is missing. When she walks out Mozzie is able to sneak in, prepared to slip in his USB and walk out with the Exodus. But it turns out Atlas stores all of its most sensitive information on 1970s-era floppy disks in order to keep them from hackers.
Mozzie decides to steal the disc from the vault, which presents the FBI with a problem. How to get the information off the disc, and then how do they then put it back. The decision is made that Neal will stall her during dinner that night until the FBI is able to print out a copy of Exodus. Then Peter will find a reason to interrupt their date and sneak the disc into Amy's purse. Amy will figure out Neal conned her, but she should be able to put the disc back and save her job.
Mozzie is tasked with finding Exodus on the file. He's tracked down some age-appropriate equipment and is working on printing out a copy at Peter's place with both Peter and Luc looking on.
Neal gets help prolonging his date but having June stop by. But try as he might Neal finds himself falling for her, and the feeling seems mutual. Mozzie figures out how to get the file off the disc, but only moments later Amy gets a call from her CEO saying he's back early from a trip and has discovered the missing disc. She expects to be fired.
Peter decides the best course of action is to bring the disc to the CEO, explain the situation. Luc is concerned that course of action puts the mission in jeopardy. Peter is insistent, but when he leave the to change clothes Luc steaks the disc and takes off.
So when Amy returns home Keller is waiting for her inside. His goal is to slip the disc into her purse, but when she catches him he pulls out a knife. Neal, having been tipped off by Neal, comes in to save the day. In the process Amy learns that Neal has been scamming her. Neal suggests that Amy tells her CEO that she stole the disc as a way to expose a flaw in security and make him aware that she deserves a promotion.
The next day Amy follows Amy's plan. It works, but she decides to quit anyway. She too wholesome for that kind of manipulation. She gives Neal a firm slap out the office and tells him she's had enough of New York.
Peter's team discovers Exodus is a algorithm, randomizer thingy having something to do with airports. They assume it's part of some "impossible heist" the Panthers are planning. Peter threatens Luc with making him disappear if he doesn't stay away from the case.
The episode ends with Keller forcing Neal into something of a bombshell realization: Even if the FBI lets him have his freedom after taking down the Panthers, the Panthers themselves will never forget. Even from prison they'll be able to come after Neal, likely in the form of killing those closest to him. Neal has himself quite a bit to think about.
