Sex & Nudity

  • No nudity but there are sex scenes. One of the scenes are of a man and women thrusting on a table in an office; she has her legs wrapped around him.
  • A scene where a man and woman are naked (no nudity) rolling around on a bed under the covers; sex implied.

Violence & Gore

  • A mortally wounded man's intestines are seen during the Battle of Bunker Hill.
  • There are many scenes that contain violence seeing the story is about the uprising of the colonies against the british.
  • We see people get shot in the head, beatings with riffles, blood stained clothes and blood on the ground where fight scenes take place.
  • Also a scene of domestic violence, a women then shows a doctor a bruise on her cheek.
  • Mostly battle violence which would be true to the story of what went on in those times.

Profanity

  • Sh*t, b*st*rd, h*ll, and d*mn are used a number of times. A little bit of name calling against the British and the King of England.
  • A man is seen peeing on a painting of the King of England.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • There is a lot of drinking and smoking. A lot of scenes inside pubs. And lots of drunkedness.
  • Lots of references made about drunkereds.
  • Also dignitaries drinking at social functions and inside there homes while having meetings.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • There are some scenes that are intense. Lots of stand offs with the military and the sons of liberty.
  • Mob violence in the street maybe a little frightening to some viewers.

  • Dr. Warren is shot in the head on screen. As he is a major character, this is somewhat disturbing.
  • In the beginning of episode 2, a man is flogged on the back, tied to a pole. They show his back and blood dripping off of the whip
