Just read the last two reviews of this episode and have to state the obvious IT'S A COMEDY SHOW PEOPLE. They are not trying to change the world just make you laugh at it for a few minutes. So sit back and have fun in the screwed up town of Pawnee.

Feminist Leslie Rocks!
george-concei20 January 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I just read another review complaining about this episode, so I had to share how it was amazing!

The episode reinforces how Leslie is a Feminist and fights for Women rights, just like we could see through all of the other episodes. Her speech at the end is just fantastic and the episode summarizes about the equal rights for both sexes as well as how some men think feminists try to shut them up or stuff like that, showing how this is totally dumb.

I loved this episode and every single part of how Leslie represents the new woman, the future, and does her best in every way against the dumb citizens in Pawnee.

Prejuduce! Yay!
Reviewenstein27 February 2015
I think I would have really enjoyed this episode, as it addressed the only thing in this, one of my favorite shows of all time, that always bothers me - someone finally treated Gary like a human being. That alone should have made the episode one for the books, but instead I was so appalled by what was probably intended as a minor joke that I'm now having trouble mustering up the enthusiasm even to watch the final episodes.

The episode sees the introduction of a men's rights group, the purpose of which is to treat the suggestion of men's rights as an absurd and offensive notion. The group is presented as a combination of weak and basement-dwelling and angry and domineering, presumably because the authors somehow thought that perpetuating all the most popular male stereotypes was the best way to demonstrate that there's no such thing as prejudice against men. The episode concluded the story with the line, "You're ridiculous. Men's rights is nothing."

Whatever your own beliefs, it should at least be disturbing that the writers of a program which has always gone out of its way to be politically and socially open-minded were comfortable being publicly hateful to any group that supports human rights, even if they have doubts about its validity. I'm profoundly dismayed by this display of an attitude which, were it directed at any other group, would be strongly denounced as prejudice.

Gender Roles
vivianla28 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode focuses on gender roles. Leslie is under scrutiny for taking the spotlight that Ben should have as he is running for congressman. Jen Barkley warns the couple ahead of time but they brush it off only to find out later that she was right all along. Leslie is faced with the women of the year organization going against her for joining the pie-making contest as it is antiquated to expect a congressman's wife to be a homemaker. Leslie also has to deal with the Male Men's group who accuse her of oppressing Ben and forcing Ben to bake for her. Ron, Andy and April go on a hunt to find the key that Ron gave April 8 years ago. Turns out Ron constantly changes his locks anyways and he just wanted to see how April would do.
