Weak romance
lor_22 December 2020
For a label known for its pioneering work in presenting Couples Romances to the public, Adam & Eve strikes out with this very mild and very corny story, made by Lee Roy Myers and resembling his romances for rival label New Sensations.

Victoria Lawson is okay in the title role, which might have worked better with a big-name actress and, more importantly, a better script.

Her creep of a boyfriend Rocco Reed leaves her high and dry, so she needs a job and gets hired as a maid for dreamboat Richie Calhoun. There's zero suspense about them eventually hooking up romantically, and for two hours nothing interesting occurs. Not even a class system element (see a Jennifer Lopez rom-com on the subject) is introduced.

Instead we have paper-thin characters like Rocco's as well as Lily LaBeau similarly mean and condescending as Richie's girlfriend. Tommy Pistol is okay, cast against type as a friendly buddy to RIchie and shoulder for Lawson to cry on.
