- Even though everybody else thinks he's a sparrow - Richard himself holds tight to the conviction that he is in fact a stork.
- Orphaned at birth and raised by storks, the teenage sparrow Richard believes he is one of them. But when the time comes to migrate to Africa, his stork family is forced to reveal his true identity and leave him behind in the forest, since he is not a migratory bird and would not survive the journey. Determined to prove he is a stork after all, Richard ventures south on his own. But only with the help of Olga, an eccentric owl with an imaginary friend and Kiki, a narcissistic, disco-singing parakeet, does he stand a chance to reach his goal and learn to accept who he really is.—Reza Memari
- Storks Claudian and Auroa were to deliver a baby sparrow, but its parents having died she convinces him to raise the chick Richard 'Ricky' till fall with their own son Max, which goes great. Then it's time to migrate for hibernation in Africa, but he's too small to keep, so they must leave him behind. Convinced he's a stork, Ricky tries to follow, first alone, then accompanied by schizophrenic owl Oleg alias Olga, who can't manage either. Narcistic caged parakeet KIki convinces them to liberate him as guide to Gibraltar, but he tricks them to San Remo for the pageant. Next the trio finds a way to Africa, where the storks can't cope with a honey badger.—KGF Vissers
