- Sgt. Abraham Ford: [to community] Simply put, there's a vast ocean of shit you people don't know shit about. Rick knows every fine grain of said shit... and then some.
- Carol Peletier: Just tell them a story. It's what I've been doing since I got here.
- Michonne: Why?
- Carol Peletier: Because these people are children, and children like stories.
- Rick Grimes: [to community] The ones out there, the living and the dead, they'll try to get in here. 'Cause we're in here. They'll hunt us, they'll find us, they'll try to use us, they'll kill us. But we'll kill them. We'll survive. I'll show you how.
- Rick Grimes: You know, I was thinking, how many of you do I have to kill to save your lives? But I'm not going to do that. You're going to change.
- Rick Grimes: I don't want to lie anymore.
- Carol Peletier: You said you don't want to take this place, and you don't want to lie? Oh sunshine, you don't get both.
- Daryl Dixon: [Daryl & Aaron are both trapped in a small sedan, unarmed, surrounded by walkers... Daryl quietly laughs to himself]
- Aaron: What?
- Daryl Dixon: I came out here to... I feel all closed up back there. Even now, this still feels more like me... than back in them houses. That's pretty messed up, huh?
- Aaron: [Quietly] You were trying.
- Daryl Dixon: I had to.
- Aaron: No... you didn't. Listen, I saw you out there with your group on there on the road. Then you went off on your own by the barn. Storm hit and you lead your people to safety. That was it. I knew I had to bring you people back. You were right. We should have kept looking for that guy in the poncho. I shouldn't have given up. You didn't.
- Daryl Dixon: [pauses, then takes out cigarette] I'll go. I'll lead them out, you make a break for the fence.
- Aaron: No, no, no. This was my fault.
- Daryl Dixon: It wasn't a question. And this ain't your decision. It ain't nobody's fault.
- [Brief pause]
- Daryl Dixon: Just let me finish my smoke first.
- Aaron: [Shakes head] No. You don't draw them away. We fight. We go for the fence. We do it together. All right? Whether we- make it or not, we do it together. We have to.
- Daryl Dixon: [Brief pause... nods] All right. You ready?
- Aaron: Yeah.
- Daryl Dixon: We go on three.
- [Both grab door handles and ready themselves]
- Daryl Dixon: One... two...
- [a walker hanging on the passenger window gets impaled through the eye by a wooden staff. They briefly hesitate, then get out of the car at the same time]
- Daryl Dixon: .
