Sex & Nudity

  • In the opening, a very brief scene reveals a girl and a boy circling across the screen naked. Not detailed nor implying anything sexual at all.
  • A girl is seen putting on a shirt in one episode. For a brief second, she is seen shirtless. (Again it's brief).
  • Show about friends and classical music. Nothing too sexual.
  • In an episode, the characters go to see Kaori in the hospital, they walk in on her having a spongebath, however, nothing explict except her bare back is shown, but Tsubaki kicks Kousei and Watari in the face and calls them both perverts. Nothing sexual; just playful.
  • A girl is shown wearing a boy's tshirt in his house which makes a girl next door Believe they did it. When in reality, the young boy was just providing her Hospitality. Nothing explicit or sexual shown and Is meant For laughs.
  • Some characters wear skirts but is not meant to show or be sexual. Very infrequent close Ups while not revealing anything hidden under the skirt.
  • A teen girl accuses a teen boy of taking a picture of her and calls him a pervert, when in reality he is not.
  • The show revolves around middle school students. Minimal nudity.

Violence & Gore

  • We frequently see teenager's memories involving his abusive mother. In some of this scenes he is beaten and some blood is visible.
  • A teenager girl hits her friends when she gets angry with them. They finish bleeding (in a comedic way)
  • In the first episode, the same girl hits a ball and accidentally hits one of her friends and he finishes bleeding from the head. This is done for laughs.
  • A teen girl suffers deteriorating health throughout, at one point, she's unable to walk and screams in agony while trying to walk.
  • Other moments of mild violence and some blood.

Profanity

  • Language is pretty mild in this show.
  • Minimal language, not too bad and is infrequent.
  • Dammit is said a few times in the course of the show.
  • In a later episode in the japanese subtitle version watari is drooling over other girls and kaori says "he is a walking hard on"
  • a F-bomb on the English dub
  • In a later episode in the Japanese verson, the english subtiles say "he is a walking hard on" kaori says about watari drooling over girls.
  • The language is mild in general.
  • Tsubaki uses the word sh*t in a later episode in the English dub

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The woman who takes care of Kousei in the 2nd half of the series smokes sometimes
  • There are no drugs but there is some drinking and smoking but nothing too serious.
  • A child draws a picture of her mom smoking marijuana.
  • Some drinking and smoking is shown, but nothing too serious.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A child draws a disturbing picture of her mom smoking weed.
  • Most of the series is very emotional and sad.
  • The flashbacks and childhoods of the main characters often get very emotional and sad.
  • The main character is abused by his mother in several flashbacks in many ways, this is very sad and affects another main character emotionally as well.
  • His mother is very creepy looking and some scenes can be a bit frightening.
  • The story of the main character is quite dark.
  • Some mild fights and some intense moments.
  • Humor is the driving force which makes the show lighter.
  • The blood can be frightening for someone, although the scenes with blood shown aren't graphic and some of them are made in comical purpose.

Sex & Nudity

  • At one point, the main character is no-so-subtly accused of being inappropriate with a much younger girl. Nothing actually happened, and their relationship is completely innocent, but there is some definite innuendo from another character.

Violence & Gore

  • A cat is accidentally run over by a car offscreen. A teen boy tries to save it by rushing it to the hospital, but it ends up dying anyway offscreen. We see the cats blood on the boys hands, which visibly traumatizes him.
  • A character gets surgery in one scene, some blood-stained medical equipment is seen.
  • A main character dies at the end of the series, it isn't seen but the implication is clear, this scene is emotional and not at all violent.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The entire second half of the show slowly grows more depressing and dark. Blood is shown in a few scenes, and the final two episodes are extremely upsetting since a main character dies. Have tissues nearby.
  • A main supporting character is seen having an attack of sorts, possibly a seizure, near the end of the series. It's quite sudden, intense, and very emotional.
  • A cat is accidentally run over by a car offscreen, it later dies in the hospital and this emotionally affects the main character.
  • Kaori dies at the end of the series, it isn't shown, but it's clear when it happens. This scene is very emotional and sad.
