At the end of season 3, when Elam is attacked by the bear, he is left severely injured, but face up. In this episode he is face down as he starts crawling through the mud. There was no mud at the end of season 3. The action follows immediately after he has killed the bear because we see his horse running off; there would not have been time for rainfall to create the mud puddle. The wounds and blood spatter on his face also don't match from scene to scene. In this episode we see bear claw marks above both eyes and above his nose; and a hole on his left cheek, which is severe enough to cause his left eye to close shut. None of these wounds appear in season 3 episode 10. There are four bear claw wounds on his left cheek which do not appear at the beginning of this episode.
