Searching for the Cure
claudio_carvalho18 January 2019
In 1932, the grandmother of Abraham Setrakian tells the story of the gentle nobleman Jusef Sardu and how his life changed after a hunting party with his brother and friends. On the present days, Setrakian seeks out The Master but he is abducted by Vaun and his vampires that asks him to tell the whereabouts of The Master to his group when he found him, and Setrakian agrees. Later he goes to a storage facility with Eph and Nora to bring some objects and they stumble upon an old couple hidden inside the locker. When they are leaving the spot, they are attacked by vampires and the couple is infected. Eph decides to use them as guinea pig searching for the cure. The Master needs a new host since his body is decaying and Eichhors stops a bus with blind children to feed The Master.

"BK, NY" is a reasonable episode and the beginning of the Second Season of "The Strain". How the Master changed his body in 1932 and Eph and Nora preparing to research a cure for the infection are the only novelty. My vote is seven.

So sad with the cast changes

Warning: Spoilers
The kid that now plus Zack is not a very well actor from my point of view. I was kind of disappointed with the change.

Apart from that it is still an amazing show!!

A tiny review of "The Strain" Season 2 Premiere.
ericrnolan14 July 2015
"The Strain" hissed and clawed its way back into our hearts and veins on Sunday; the season 2 premiere of FX's vampire series deserves an 8 out of 10.

It was great. It had everything that made the show unique and fun in Season 1. We've got frightening, truly disgusting vampires that don't disappoint us by being "sexy" or "charming," and we've got an ambitious script that takes a stab at depicting an expansive story, complete with a historical context and a decent modern apocalyptic conspiracy. We've got fantastic bad guys that chew the scenery, portrayed by top-shelf actors. And the scares are there! I actually jumped during one attack, and there's a new subplot toward the end that might've been dreamed up by Satan himself. (Yeesh.)

Unfortunately, we do also appear to have the same irritating one- note stock characters as good guys. Their thin dialogue includes little indication that they're affected by the horrific events around them. And the acting among our heroes is not great across the board. These guys might've been cooked up by a high school creative writing class.

Also ... there's an occasional plot contrivance here and there, but we'll forgive those.

Still, fans will not be disappointed!

Great Episode to Start Season Two [8.6/10]

Warning: Spoilers
Reaction / Review for The Strain Season 2 Episode 1: Season 1 was good, I hope season 2 is good too. Wow the story about how the Master became the Master is so fascinating. The fact that the Master can not be destroyed completely by sunlight makes him even more dangerous. Vaun kidnapped Setrakian, what is going on? It seems that the Master got disfigured because of the sunlight so it hurts me just not enough to die from it. So it seems like Vaun is not that good after all, he feeds people to the ancients. Many times I feel like Setrakian is too old for this stuff. Wow, imagine being blind while the world is falling apart, that's hard. They recast Zach? That sucks. Also the previous Zach was a kind and sweet kid, this Zach seems to be very angry. Eph started drinking again, that's not good. What does Eichorst want with these poor blind children? I have a bad feeling. The storage place fight scene was straight out of a video game, I like it. Overall a great episode, my rating is 8.6/10.
