Decent storyline. Unfortunate execution.
kylewdowden27 June 2022
The story concept is good. Ripped from a Hallmark movie, it's an exec who pretends to be someone else, then meets the girl of his dreams. The viewer knows there will be a reckoning at some point, just like in the Hallmark movies.

Unfortunately, this film suffers greatly from poor production that chopped the film into a million pieces and made it hard to follow or understand at times.

Shelby and Long family values
bkoganbing3 August 2019
The Shelby Construction Company is in chaos with the sudden death of its founder and the company is now owned by brother and sister Jared Withrow and Holly Houk. But Houk's got a career mapped out and it's up to Wtihrow to see it through management changes.

It's a tough challenge because within the company itself there are some folks sabotaging things. As a scapegoat they've picked out Christian girl Jessica Koloian. They don't reckon with her faith.

This one falls under the God works in mysterious ways situation And of course Withrow and Koloian are fated to be mated as well.

Truly I think 90% of that company would have been polishing up their resumes before all heck breaks loose.

A kernal of a story - All around awful execution
stevepat9923 September 2020
I fully agree with other one star reviews. Found myself wishing this was a Hallmark production where their best have good acting, decent script, direction, editing and a semblance of reality. The two evil doers look like mobsters kidnapped off the streets. The love story somewhere off the screen. Scenes are tacked together foolishly. The religious theme was light and not a deal breaker whilst everything else was! Ex. His love interest sees him in a restaurant at a table with a woman. The are not kissing, flirting, holding hands etc. Nada. Yet she assume he's dating this 'other' woman without so much as asking him about her. Nonsensical.

Beyond redemption.
tbrooks-5907016 January 2022
Just awful. Writers used every trite stereotype and cliche in the book and the wooden acting of the lead made it worse. Makes Hallmark movies look like Oscar winners. For those who give this a decent rating on religious grounds, besides a couple of vague mention of God and that it's important to tell the truth, there is nothing here that in any way that encourages people in their belief. I'm sure everyone involved has a good heart but God deserves so much better! Please write a storyline worthy of watching.

Wow...doesnt get much worse than this

Problem with focusing on religion is that fundamentals like writing and acting are a low priority. As others have said, this may be some of the worst acting you'll ever see on screen. Combined with bad writing and direction this film is a disaster. I dare you to watch more than 10 minutes.

Terrible film
davidcarmfield5 May 2020
It was so terrible it was funny. The acting was excruciating, the plot ludicrous, and no characters even vaguely believable. How bad could it be? Truly dull.

Absolutely loved this movie. Great family movie written well and not afraid to recognize God is the center of it all. A must see movie.

Watched it thrice
jimfa-591-90884920 March 2022
I really think the negative reviewers hate God. Any movie with goodness in it they cannot handle. I've watched the movie three times. It has a Cinderella theme and a Rocky theme. I found the lead couple had good chemistry and the movie charming. Good wins out in the end. Of course you cynics might have a hard time with that. I have learned not to trust the commercial critics. Usually what most of them like I hate and vice versa. Without faith in God how can one believe in good triumphing over evil especially when the ultimate triumph will be in the after life. Oh well, their terrible loss. Now I am also learning not to trust the unbelieving lay critics when it comes to Christian movies. So many low rated Christian movies on IMDB I took a chance, watched them, and thoroughly enjoyed them. I admit some Christian movies are not done well. But this one is, otherwise I would not have watched it three times.

An employer who is willing to protect the employee and sacrifice the business for honesty and integrity
vchang-1972015 January 2022
This movies talks about a new CEO who is inexperienced and was facing serious business challenges and fraud in the company. One of the employee sabotaged another employee and changed the Purchase Order that caused the business to almost bankrupt. The new CEO Alex did not point finger at the poor employee Michelle but did his very best to protect her even though he did not have evidence to prove she was innocent. To some extend, it mirrored the love of Christ, the Lord Jesus left his glory in heaven, willingly laid down his life and took the the cross for our sins and died for our sins and rose again. I like the movie promotes truthfulness and business integrity which is missing in today's world.

Love story with some sleuthing
gramma_elaine18 July 2021
Don't pay mind to the negative reviews, unless CGI is the only reason you like a movie. This is a nice love story, suitable for family viewing. Great acting, great music, great directing. I highly recommend.

Cheesy Love Story w/ Redemption
jimyoyoung2 November 2020
Plot: A 30 something, whiny artist (Jared Withrow) and sister inherit the family business after their parent's sudden death. Jared and other executives of Shelby Engineering make terrible business decisions. Combine that with an employee and mobster who are sabatoging the company. Jared meets an office manager (Jessica Koloian), and they fall in love. Jessica is an idealized Christian single young woman. She rehabilitates everyone she comes into contact with. By the end of the movie, you'll laugh, you'll cry, and you leave feeling encouraged. And a surprise twist of beating the odds and coming out on top.

My wife gave the movie 4/10, but I'm a sucker for cheesy, romantic movies. My favorite part was the video with the Shelby parent's. Terrible production quality, but that's what they were going for. It was so funny, I couldn't stop laughing. The reason it lost a point (9/10 vs 10/10) was because of 2 things: 1) the movie tried to do too much. Too many side stories that really didn't weave together very well, and 2) the casting of all side characters was pretty weak. Give this one a chance! You won't be disappointed.
