This film was made as part of a Ph.D. project at the University of Maryland. Almost everyone who worked on the movie was a volunteer. Nearly all actors, director, producer and technicians worked for free. Most of those involved were working on their first movie.
Our research question? Could a team with no money make a no-budget feature film using a cheap digital camera and gear we had lying around.
The answer, yes and no. We spent $500 from 2010-12 shooting, but then needed another $3,500 to fix all of the errors we made. In all it took 7-years to finish.
We spent some additional money on food and film festival entries.
The dissertation was defended in April 2018.
