You gotta love Foggy!

Warning: Spoilers
Another fantastic episode - this time delving deeper into the relationship between Foggy and Matt. Foggy is probably the most likable guy ever and you really feel his hurt by the end of the episode. This was a guy who treated Matt like a brother but feels betrayed from all the lies.

The acting performance have been brilliant by the main two leads throughout the season, but Elden Henson finally gets to shine with more screen time. He's still funny as ever with his quips but you could feel the sadness at the end when he was leaving the apartment.

Elsewhere, you kind of felt that something bad was about to happen and I had predicted early on that something could happen to Vanessa...if things don't turn out well for her, Fisk could lose it completely - it feels like it's just a matter of time before he gets rid of Gao and Leland...

Another great episode and a brilliant ending again. Looks like Karen and Ben have something against Fisk now and will be exciting to see how that unravels!

They might not travel across the world to vanquish a ring, but this is some serious bromance

Warning: Spoilers
Unmasking a vigilante then finding that he's your best friend is a revelation that will make anyone reflect on how authentic the relationship really is. That's really the gist of the episode as Foggy and Murdock try to resolve the spectacularly untimely discovery. The two of them have been depending on each other in friendship and work, Foggy is a constant companion for Murdock and he doesn't accept the secret very well.

After going through most of their adult lives together, Murdock and Foggy are near inseparable. It's pretty nice to see their chronicles, from collage to early days of being a lawyer showcased in brighter tone. Murdock needs someone as an anchor to prevent him from slipping to the night. Unfortunately his moonlighting job is the very contrast of Foggy's nature and the way one party can tell a lie of the other is a test for any relationship.

The actors do a great job in defining the connection. While the flashbacks are shown with a touch of lighter tone, the talk they have about Murdock's secret is anything but. Charlie Cox delivers good wide range of emotion. It's not the first Murdock has shown raw emotion, although this is the first time he does so in a rather fragile way.

As Murdock recovers, Fisk also deals with his problems. The fact that he's public and also involved in a romantic relationship might not be taken graciously by his colleagues. The woman who gives him strength to cope is now also the reason people see him as a liability, despite effort on his side to ensure his power. Considering the number of his allies is also dwindling this might be a bigger issue than he thinks.

Ben Ulrich's story is explained further, it's certainly sympathetic but probably not as resounding as Karen's progress on her investigation. In the end, Foggy finding the truth about Murdock might just be a serendipitous cathartic event, or might be not.

Blood is on Your Hands

Warning: Spoilers
Knowing that the last 4 episodes are rated a little bit lower than the previous 9, I wasn't jumping at my Netflix to watch them, but I was pleasantly surprised with the way episode 10 turned out. It was a different approach than how the season has gone so far and it was definitely welcomed.

One of my complaints of the season so far has been the lack of chemistry between the main trio, Karen, Matt, and Foggy. But with the way the last episode ended, I was hoping we would get some good Foggy and Matt moments. We certainly did with Foggy confronting Matt about not telling him the truth behind his vigilantism all this time. I actually thought Henson had a very good episode as Foggy. It helped that we had some fantastic flashback material that elevated the bond between these two. Before this point, we hadn't had much time with them to really get invested in the friendship, but it was nicely handled here.

Meanwhile, Urich and Karen took a road trip to a nursing home a pretty far distance away. If anybody else watches Arrow, didn't this remind you of the scene when Laurel goes to the insane asylum to find more about Sebastian Blood. It was basically the plot for plot of that episode. Speaking of Fisk, it seems as though Vanessa may be biting the dust. That whole scene was pretty strange and ominous. So even though this episode was paced a bit slower, I don't think it was weak at all. Karen finds out a lot more about Fisk and Foggy finds out nearly everything about Matt. I would definitely like to see more of Claire though.

This episode was a slow episode. It was less exciting than the rest of the episodes. It was more into emotional relationships, and that was great.

Daredevil delivers a great story driven episode that dives into the friendship of Foggy and Matt, let's Karen and Ben learn more about Fisk, and has Fisk himself go through a troublesome ordeal.

Foggy learns about Matt's double life and is understandably angry at him for not only being the man in the mask, but also keeping it a secret from him. The confrontation between these two is very good because they both have good arguments for why Matt should or shouldn't continue his life as a vigilante so it's hard to side with one of them. One small thing for this is that I would've liked to actually see Claire instead of just having her mentioned. Matt could've seen her when he was waking up and see her talking to Foggy. We wouldn't hear what they were saying but she could've looked worried about Matt, but not able to stay around him.

The flashbacks to through the friendship of Foggy and Matt was well done as we see them as roommates, classmates, coworkers and right before the start their own firm as it showed how natural their friendship evolved and how much they value and needed each other over the years.

Ben and Karen inch closer to exposing Fisk as Karen finds Fisk's mother in a retirement home. Their they learn the truth about Wilson and what he did to his father, which might not be able to arrest him but could have people look more closely into his life. There is a rift between Karen and Ben as Karen uses the deteriorating life of Ben's wife as an excuse to further investigate, which will clearly build a wall between them, although Ben said to Karen that his wife would've liked her.

Fisk had problems this episode. Even with him in the public spotlight, there is danger that still reaches him, or in fact, Vanessa. At a benefit that Fisk was hosting, several people including Vanessa, are poisoned through the drinks that were served. While this immediately distracts Fisk because of his clear love for Vanessa, I am fully confident that somehow Owlsley is behind it as he was the one to give her the drink and that he didn't even drink his.

Still a very good episode, especially for Elden Henson who's performance of Foggy finally blew over everything that Matt was hiding from him.

+ Foggy and Matt + Ben and Karen get closer to the truth + Fisk distracted and in danger due to his heart - Claire mentioned but not seen

Final Score: 9.3/10

Delicious Drama: Can't be Both Light and Shadow! [8.8/10]

Warning: Spoilers
Live Reaction / Review for Daredevil Season 1 Episode 10: Episode 9 was great but I hope this one is even better. Damn Matt has so many injuries. Foggy saying to Matt ''Are you even really blind?'' hurts. We see in this episode young Matt and Foggy, that's adorable, also really like the long hair look for Foggy. Now that Foggy knows the truth? That changes everything, love it. Cant be both light and shadow. The chinese lady is right saying ''Choose and choose wisely'' to Fisk. I like Ben, we need more Ben. Does Ben's wife have Alzheimer's disease? That's so sad. After all this I understand Foggy, it would be hard to trust Matt. Wow Ben and Karen accidentally met Fisk's mom? That's so cool. Wow, What is going on at the event? Are these people dying? Who is behind this? Loved this episode, so good. My rating is 8.8/10.

Warning: Spoilers
Another episode and what a wonderful episode, I seem repetitive but this first season is wonderful. I didn't remember Foggy with a goatee, if he lost weight he would look like a great Shaggy from Scooby-Doo. I remembered this plot of Foggy not liking Murdock being Daredevil, but I didn't remember him abandoning the law. In fact, it's quite strange to hear that his name is Franklin and not Foggy (although it would be strange for someone to be called Foggy). Urich is really cute, right? I remembered that they were going to the place where Fisk's mother is. In my memory, it was Fisk who sabotaged the drinks, but rewatching this episode, it didn't make any sense because he saw Vanessa taking the glass and if it were him, he would stop it. Was it Owl? I swear I don't remember who is to blame for this plot. Episode ten watched on March 8, 2024.

As a conversation-based episode, it works
Leofwine_draca19 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Not a bad episode for one centred around a heartfelt chat between Nelson and Murdock. A lot of flashbacking, some unwanted goofy humour and silliness, but real meat from the actors here. The occasional bit of action but the good stuff is saved for the climax with a decent soiree set-piece.

The End of An Affair? Meh...
nicolailaros17 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This is so far the first deception of this tremendous show. Badly played (meaning by that "expecting much more") and dull ("Oh, Matt, you are a vigilante? Bad Matt, bad! Snif... liar, you betrade me... I don't love you anymore 'cause I'm a first rate victim of desinformation... doing my best, but NO: I quit!"), Admitedly, this has to happen at one point or another of the show... Thanks God, we are throught (please!) I hoped for a bit more depth here... In vain as it seems. Let's focus on what's coming next now.
