With last week’s announcements of the nominees for both the SAG Awards and the Golden Globes, a number of high-profile performances did not make it on the list. But fear not, snubbed actors, as you may still have a shot at Oscar come February.
Here’s a look at those actors who weren’t recognized by SAG and the Globes but are still in the hunt:
Michael Caine, 82, plays a retired orchestra conductor on vacation with his director best friend (Harvey Keitel) in the Swiss Alps in Youth. The film earned a best supporting actress nomination for co-star Jane Fonda, but Caine himself has not been honored with any nods for his performance. Caine would look for a best actor nomination.
Tom Courtenay, 78, plays a husband who, on the night of his 45th wedding anniversary, receives an unexpected letter that could change his life in the drama 45 Years.

And we don't just mean in her vast knowledge of the world around (note—she's known for some outrageous quotes), but also in her sense of style. With countless premieres and ample glamorous events, the Divergent star is no stranger to the red carpet. Whether in a statement gown or in a more relaxed ensemble, she always manages to impress. It seems as though Will Smith - much like his lovely wife, Jada - has yet to begin the aging process. The actor hit the red carpet for the premiere of his new film Concussion during AFI Fest in La on Tuesday, and we couldn't ignore the fact that he looks pretty much exactly the same as when he first won our hearts on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air over 25 years ago. Will posed for photos with a few of his costars, Mike O'Malley, Paul Reiser, and Albert Brooks, as well as Dr. Bennet Omalu, the forensic neurologist he portrays in the film. Will made a return to the red carpet at the Hollywood Film Awards last week, where he mingled with other stars like Johnny Depp, Reese Witherspoon, and Jamie Foxx. We'll likely get to see more of him as he gears up to promote Concussion before its release on Christmas Day.

Reese Witherspoon spent an afternoon with her 16-year-old daughter, Ava Phillippe, in La on Saturday. The duo was spotted heading to a nail salon, and while Reese showed off her legs in an A-line skirt and loafers, Ava stayed covered up in jeans and an oversize sweater. Reese may have been getting glammed up for the Lacma Art + Film Gala, which she attended with her husband, Jim Toth, that evening. The couple mingled with Leonardo DiCaprio, Salma Hayek, and Gwyneth Paltrow at the event, which was just the latest in a handful of high-profile parties where Reese has popped up recently. She walked the red carpet at the Hollywood Film Awards last week and had both Ava and her 13-year-old son, Deacon, by her side as she accepted the American Cinematheque Award for her significant contributions to the film industry. Keep reading to see Reese and Ava's latest mother-daughter date,...

The 19th annual Hollywood Film Awards will be launching the awards campaigns of contenders both big and small, but few are bigger than Quentin Tarantino’s new movie The Hateful Eight. The film and its cast will be honored with the Hollywood Ensemble Award, which bodes well for its chances with Oscar. The ensemble consists of a group that includes Zoë Bell, Demian Bichir, Bruce Dern, Walton Goggins, Dana Gourrier, Lee Horsley, Samuel L. Jackson, Keith Jefferson, Gene Jones, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Michael Madsen, Belinda Owino, James Parks, Tim Roth, Kurt Russell, Craig Stark, and Channing Tatum, with some to compete for Academy Awards this year as well. It’s a heck of a cast, one that Tarantino seems to have had a blast playing with. The Hollywood Film Awards have recognized the ensemble with this honor, one that seems very appropriate to me… Here’s part of the press...

With the precursor season basically upon us, I strongly suspect that it won’t be the only one that she receives before Oscar nominations are announced… Here’s part of the press release once again announcing this honor: dick clark productions announced today that Academy Award-nominated actress Saoirse Ronan will receive the “New Hollywood Award” for Brooklyn. Will Smith is potentially going to be a force to reckon with in Best Actor this year, but first he’s going to be honored at the 19th annual Hollywood Film Awards. Yes, Smith is receiving the Hollywood Actor Award for his work in Concussion, which looking to shake up the Oscar race (no pun intended). The talented actor has a baity role here that he very well may have knocked out of the park, so this is very much a jumping off point for his strong Academy Award candidacy. The Hollywood Film Awards could have gone in any number of directions here, but their choice of Smith should speak volumes about his work. When the 19th annual Hollywood Film Awards have their ceremony on November 1st, one of the very top honors given out will be the prestigious Hollywood Career Achievement Award, which will be presented to Robert De Niro. The legendary actor is a two time Academy Award winner, potentially in contention for another Oscar nomination this year with Joy (which would be another Best Supporting Actor citation for him), and just is one of the best we’ve ever had in the business. It’s an award that’s impossible to argue with, aside from possibly wishing that he’d already been given this prize. There’s few better at their craft, so De Niro is a perfect recipient of this honor. His award will be one of the Hollywood Film Awards highlights this year for sure, that much goes without saying. Kudos are certainly in order for De Niro here…...

Yesterday, it was announced that the 19th annual Hollywood Film Awards would be the first to honor Quentin Tarantino’s last movie The Hateful Eight. The film is being cited with an honor for its entire ensemble cast, which is a compliment not just to Tarantino, but to a number of Academy Award hopefuls as well. The flick is still by and large unseen by all but a few, so its Oscar prospects are still a bit up in the air. That being said, citations like this one make me think that Qt could have another award winner on his hands here in The Hateful Eight. In any event, it’s time now for another installment of the Hollywood Film Awards series! Here’s the official honor being bestowed on the film… “Hollywood Ensemble Award” The Hateful Eight, by Quentin Tarantino Who is in the cast that shares in this particular honor?...
