This story was very much inspired by the writings of Deborah Lutz, the Thruston B. Morton Professor of English at the University of Louisville. Much of her work focuses on the history of sexuality, pornography and erotica in literature. Writer Gregory Cioffi was honored to be her student when she taught at Long Island University and was utterly fascinated by her work. He was thankful to receive her blessing when he originally wrote the script in 2014..
This is director Joseph DiPietro's second narrative film after his 2013 feature "The Long Island Serial Killer."
