- Peter Mills: All right, let me have the knife.
- [Vic aims his gun at Mills]
- Peter Mills: Hey... better set the gun aside.
- [Vic gives his gun to Sean]
- Peter Mills: This is gonna hurt, like, a lot, okay? I'm gonna go quick.
- [Mills cuts Vic's neck open. Vic starts screaming in pain]
- Peter Mills: That was the easy part.
- Sean: Hey, what happened? What did you do?
- Sylvie Brett: It's okay, he just passed out.
- [whispers to Mills]
- Sylvie Brett: Clamp it here.
- [points at Vic's coratid]
- Peter Mills: [whispers] You do realize what that will do?
- [Brett writes "let him die" in the pool of blood on the table]
- Wallace Boden: Hey, everything okay? You keep looking at your phone every six seconds since you got here. You just got here.
- Christopher Herrmann: Oh, just keeping in touch with the firehouse.
- Wallace Boden: Why? What's wrong?
- Christopher Herrmann: Chief, you need to worry about one thing and one thing only right now: little Terrance.
- Wallace Boden: Herrmann, don't keep anything from me. Not right now. Because I will not handle it well.
- Christopher Herrmann: We don't know where Mills and Brett are. We found the ambo abandoned in an alley a few hours ago, but the cops are on it. So are Casey and Severide. There's nothing for you to do, so I didn't want to say anything, all right?
- Jay Halstead: We have numerous witnesses saying they saw you make a serious threat against Peter Mills.
- Papa Lullo: My son was dead. I was upset.
- Jay Halstead: Yeah, that certainly squares with the eyewitness statements. "Mr. Lullo was livid. Full of rage. Frothing at the mouth."
- Papa Lullo: Look, I went over there and I apologized to Peter Mills, and he accepted my apology. He's a good kid.
- Jay Halstead: So you no longer blame Mills for the death of your son?
- Papa Lullo: I don't understand what's going on here. I thought you caught the men that took those paramedics.
- Jay Halstead: We caught two of them, yeah, so far.
- Papa Lullo: And you think it goes deeper.
- Jay Halstead: It always does, you know. It's like an iceberg.
- Papa Lullo: You know, I don't want to tell you how to do your job here, but shouldn't you be talking to guys you caught and find out what they know? They're keeping their mouths shut, aren't they?
- Sylvie Brett: There is no question that Lullo is the one behind this attempt on our lives, but the cops have of no way of connecting him to it. He's just gonna get away scot-free.
- Gus: Sounds like it.
- Sylvie Brett: Well, you know people, right? Criminals? So maybe you could ask around, see if anybody heard anything about Lullo putting a price on our head. I don't know. Look, I know Lullo is a powerful man, but you said if I got into any kind of trouble, that you could help me.
- Gus: So you're calling in your chit.
- Sylvie Brett: My--my what? My... Yeah, I am.
- Gus: I'll see what I can do.
- Peter Mills: [about a man who was run over by a truck] He's passed out from blood loss. Let's get him to Chicago Med.
- [a black car pulls up]
- Sylvie Brett: What's that?
- [two men get out of the car]
- Peter Mills: Hey, guys, we've got a medical emergency here. We need you to move the vehicle.
- Vic: [pulls out a gun] Hands in the air. Keep your mouths shut.
- Sylvie Brett: Whoa.
- Sean: TURN AROUND!
- Vic: Keep it down. Put your hands behind your back, no one gets hurt.
- Sylvie Brett: This guy needs to get to the hospital.
- Peter Mills: Brett. Brett.
- Sylvie Brett: What is this?
- Peter Mills: Don't hurt her, please.
- Vic: Doesn't have to be messy. Just do what we say.
- Peter Mills: Would you let her go? I'm the one that he wants. Come on.
- Vic: He? Who's "he"?
- Sylvie Brett: Where are we going?
- Peter Mills: Brett, don't get in that car!
- Sean: I will blow your head clean off. Get in!
- [he and Vic force Mills and Brett into the car and drive off]
- Peter Mills: Where are you taking us?
- Sean: Shut up.
- Vic: Where's your phone, hon?
- Sylvie Brett: Left-hand jacket pocket.
- [Vic throws Mills's and Brett's walkie-talkies and phones out the car window]
- Sean: Turn around.
- Peter Mills: Jason Lullo-- he sustained fatal injuries long before we arrived on the scene.
- Vic: I don't know what you're talking about. Just keep quiet now.
- Peter Mills: At least let her go. I was the one in the...
- Sean: Shut your hole!
- Peter Mills: You gonna kill us?
- Vic: You know everything, is that it?
- Peter Mills: Brett.
- Sean: Quiet.
- Peter Mills: Brett, brace yourself.
- [kicks Sean's gun out of his hand and strangles Vic with his legs. They swerve out of control until they crash]
- [first lines]
- Matthew Casey: Halstead. Thanks for coming. Good to have someone we can trust on this.
- Jay Halstead: Absolutely. Still no word from your paramedics?
- Matthew Casey: No.
- Jay Halstead: Dumb question: Anybody try their cells?
- Matthew Casey: Yeah. No answer.
- Jay Halstead: All right, give me their cells. I'm gonna get an order and start pinging them.
- Matthew Casey: Right.
- Jay Halstead: Were they dispatched to this location?
- Matthew Casey: Yeah.
- Jay Halstead: This could've been a setup.
- Joe Cruz: Lullo's got to be behind this, right?
- Jay Halstead: Yeah, I think we got to start with that assumption. What the hell happened here?
- Joe Cruz: All we know is about six hours ago, cameras caught a black town car driving like crazy down Fillmore. They lost sight of it, so we're searching for it now.
- Jay Halstead: Whoa. What's this?
- Joe Cruz: Uh, hey, Otis, let me give you a call back, okay?
- [they see a wrecked black car]
- Joe Cruz: Oh, damn!
- Jay Halstead: Hey, hey, hey. Shh. This is Detective Halstead of Intelligence. I need to run an Illinois passenger tag. 2-5-3-1-William-North-Sam. All right. Hey, what do you got?
- Joe Cruz: Nothing. Car's empty. Looks like everybody made it out.
- Jay Halstead: Thank you.
- [hangs up his phone]
- Jay Halstead: The car was reported stolen yesterday.
- Joe Cruz: This happened hours ago. If Lullo's got them, they're dead.
- Jay Halstead: Don't assume anything.
- Joe Cruz: Where the hell have they been all this time?
- Joe Cruz: Did they get him?
- Peter Mills: No, son of a bitch is gonna walk. Hey, Brett, you okay?
- Sylvie Brett: I'm fine.
- Joe Cruz: Hey, is everything okay between you and Mills? What's that?
- Sylvie Brett: During the helicopter crash, I rescued this sketchy guy.
- Joe Cruz: Well, what is he, like a handyman or something?
- Sylvie Brett: No, he's no handyman. He had a gun and a bunch of fake IDs and passports. I'm gonna see if he can help us take down Lullo.
- Joe Cruz: This guy? How's he supposed to help?
- Sylvie Brett: Let's find out. Can I borrow your phone? Those guys threw mine out the window.
- Joe Cruz: You are not calling this guy, Sylvie. Let the cops do their thing.
- Sylvie Brett: The cops can't *do* anything, but maybe we can.
- Joe Cruz: Look, I get it that you're upset, but this is not the way that you want to go about this.
- Sylvie Brett: Those guys were gonna kill us! I had a gun to my head all that time, hours and hours, just waiting to die! Anthony Lullo is not gonna get away with that! Now can I borrow your phone or not?
- Joe Cruz: You do not agree to see this guy unless I'm there, okay?
- Sylvie Brett: Thank you.
- Peter Mills: Not sure why you changed your mind.
- Vic: Look, I agreed to talk to you, but I'm not gonna help you. I don't care who your friends are.
- Peter Mills: How's your neck?
- Vic: Doc says you did good work given what you had. He also says I'm very trusting. One false move, you could've given me a massive stroke.
- Peter Mills: Yeah, well, that's my job: to help people not hurt them. You know, I tried to help Anthony Lullo's son, but he was beyond help.
- Vic: I don't know anyone named Lullo.
- Peter Mills: That's what the cops are saying, that you have no prior connection to him. Why would you be willing to pay hard time on his behalf?
- Vic: Look, kid, hypothetically speaking, let's say I talk and Lullo gets locked up. You think that's the end of it? You think he can't reach you from behind bars, a guy like that?
- Peter Mills: So you do know him?
- Vic: You better leave.
- Peter Mills: Look, if Lullo shares in the blame, why don't you let him share in this punishment?
- Vic: Guard! This man's bothering me.
- Prison hospital guard: Okay, that's enough.
- Peter Mills: You think this is honorable, what you're doing? It isn't. Okay, I saved your life.
- Prison hospital guard: Okay.
- Peter Mills: What has Lullo ever done for you, huh?
- Peter Mills: What is going on in there? He's walking all over you.
- Jay Halstead: Maybe I should smack him around a little bit? Mills, he's here on his own volition. We don't have anything on him.
- Peter Mills: Those guys had a cell phone. They had to be calling somebody.
- Jay Halstead: Yeah, it was a pay-as-you-go. It was registered to Johnny Cash in the middle of the Indiana sand dunes.
- Peter Mills: If I could just talk to the older guy, Vic, the guy that we saved, I know...
- Jay Halstead: I already told you he refuses to see you. Now, if you visit that guy in the lock-up, he could get branded a snitch. A guy like that, he's gonna gladly do hard time before he rats out on someone of Lullo's stature.
- Peter Mills: So we can't do anything.
- Jay Halstead: We will handle it from here.
- Matthew Casey: Okay, thanks. Let us know. They pulled footage off some CPD pods and ID'd a black town car that was following the ambo, but the plate was obscured.
- Kelly Severide: Hey, guys. Any sign of Mills and Brett?
- Matthew Casey: Cruz is giving us updates on the search, but nothing concrete yet.
- Kelly Severide: Cruz is with the cops?
- Brian Zvonecek: Yeah, he refused to come back with us. This whole thing has gotten really spun out.
- Randall McHolland: How's baby Boden doing?
- Kelly Severide: Eh...
- Christopher Herrmann: What does that mean?
- Kelly Severide: Um... baby's still not absorbing oxygen. Doctors are working on him. Boden, now, he's holding it together, but you can tell he's--he's worried.
- Christopher Herrmann: All right, I got to call him, see what's going on.
- Matthew Casey: Does he know about Mills and Brett?
- Kelly Severide: No, I didn't think he needed to worry about that right now.
- Matthew Casey: All right. Good. Let's keep it that way.
- Christopher Herrmann: All right.
- Wallace Boden: Herrmann?
- Christopher Herrmann: How is everybody?
- Wallace Boden: Uh...
- Christopher Herrmann: Yeah, Severide said that there might be some kind of a... problem?
- Wallace Boden: Little Terrance... his lungs ain't working right. Doctors are all over it, so... they don't seem too worried. It's just... It's hard waiting, you know?
- Christopher Herrmann: Yeah, I get it. Uh... Listen, is there anybody there with you?
- Wallace Boden: Not yet, but it's okay.
- Christopher Herrmann: All the same, I'm gonna send Cindy over there. You hang in there, buddy.
- Wallace Boden: Yeah, thanks, Herrmann. Um... how's everybody over there?
- Christopher Herrmann: Ah, good, you know. Everybody's good. Don't worry about us. I'm gonna go. Give my love to Donna.
- Wallace Boden: Yeah, I will.
- Matthew Casey: Has anybody looped in Dawson?
- Christopher Herrmann: No. No. I can.
- Matthew Casey: I got it.
- Peter Mills: I got it for the dashboard.
- Sylvie Brett: Why a hula dancing shark?
- Peter Mills: I guess I thought it would make you smile. Look, I know that you're mad at me for saving that creep's life, but I...
- Sylvie Brett: I'm not. I'm not mad at you.
- Peter Mills: Then why can't you look me in the eye?
- Sylvie Brett: Because of what you must think of me. I asked you to let a man die. That's messed up.
- Peter Mills: Those guys were gonna kill us.
- Sylvie Brett: Well, you knew that, and you didn't let it cloud your moral judgment. I mean, I am a first responder. A thought like that is never supposed to enter my mind.
- Peter Mills: You wouldn't be human if it didn't. I gave you the chance to clamp off that carotid, and you didn't take it. That's all that matters.
- [alarm blares]
- Emergency dispatch: Engine 51, Truck 81, Squad 3...
- Peter Mills: Cool shark.
- Emergency dispatch: Ambulance 61. Structure fire.
- Peter Mills: [his phone buzzes] It's Halstead.
- [answers his phone]
- Peter Mills: Hey, what's up?
- Sylvie Brett: What?
- Peter Mills: Okay.
- [hangs up]
- Peter Mills: Vic agreed to talk. Just arrested Lullo. How'd you do that?
- Sylvie Brett: I just got you in the door. You did the rest.
