A Serious Misstep of an Episode
dcb-422 September 2015
Normally, I love this show. Even when I'm not familiar with the comedian, of not a fan, there's something enjoyable about the banter between Jerry and his guests. I like the stories of how it was starting out, and some of the funny stuff that happens along the way.

This was reminiscent of the episode with "Kramer," from the old Seinfeld show. That didn't work too well, but it had it's moments. Sadly, this one does not. I smiled/lightly chuckled five times in twenty minutes. I counted. The character of "Miranda Sings" (or whatever) just doesn't work.

The only time the show really came alive was at the very end, when the actress underneath actually started talking about how the character affected her life. Could have flipped the show. Had one minute of Miranda, and nineteen of Colleen.

A rare, but serious misstep of an episode, in an otherwise fascinating show.

No so good

Warning: Spoilers
This was one of my least favorite episodes. The problem was Colleen was doing her bit, her schtick the entire time. This is supposed to be a show about the comedians being themselves, talking, laughing. Instead, she used it as a platform to show off her character which was very annoying.

Yes, there were 30 seconds at the end as the credits rolled where we saw the real Colleen and got to hear a few meager words from her, but that was it. I guess Seinfeld worked it out with her ahead of time and agreed on it, because he went along with it. But it didn't work for the audience.

Painful to Watch, but that's the Point
erikarcher7 July 2020
It was weird that the show switched up the format. Normally it's Jerry and a comedian (in this case, Colleen Ballinger), this time it's Jerry and a character, "Miranda Sings". Whatever the producers saw on YouTube that made them think this character would work on the show: they were wrong, she's just annoying. Painfully annoying. I "get" that that's the point, but it just didn't work and I felt bad for everyone involved with this episode.

If you "hate" Miranda Sings, at least watch the post-credit scene where you get to see a bit of the actress/comedian who plays her, there's some redemption after all.

Painful
dcreed28 May 2018
I enjoy the interviews with comedians as humans, not watching the comedian do a bit to exhaustion. This was the latter. If I wanted to watch her character, I'd watch her show instead of Jerry Seinfeld's. I gave up after about 8 minutes, preferring instead to slam my testicles in a dresser drawer.

When does the act stops?
jjwepener16 March 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Was constantly waiting for the act to stop and the interview to start. This was my least favorite episode this far and I think Jerry was deviating from what the show was actually meant to be. My recommendation, not worth watching.

Easily the Worst
drednm29 January 2019
Worst episode of this usually funny and insightful series. Whereas the guest comedian usually just sits and talks like a person, this one has an incredibly unfunny woman playing her incredibly annoying character for the whole drive. She only comes out of character after the closing credits.

Jerry Seinfeld is a savvy and funny guy, and his TV series is probably the greatest sitcom in TV history. This web series is quite different, but it's an oddly addictive mix of vintage cars and some legendary comedy stars.

This particular episode is a total misfire. It's the only one I've seen where the guest plays a character.

A HUGE mistake, Jerry ... HUGE!

Made an IMDB account just to give this episode a 1/10

I've been binge watching CICGC for the past 3 days and just came across this atrocity. What a cute little car to waste on this idea. I am beyond confused how Jerry wanted/allowed this to be a part of his show... Like, the last part when she was a normal person was all we needed, but throughout the show. Ugh.

Worst episode/Wrong format
rdmeags-2415518 September 2018
Warning: Spoilers
When she answers the phone in character.... funny. When she answered the door in character.... less funny. When she NEVER BROKE CHARACTER, ruined the whole episode. This wasn't an interview wth a YouTube personality, it was a YouTube character. I couldn't get through 10 minutes of it

I don't get the bad reviews. Loved it.

Warning: Spoilers
Watching Jerry try to interact with her and just being stone cold flummoxed by her weirdness is brilliant. Yes it breaks format to a certain degree because she's obviously in character, but that's what makes it great. The dynamic there is comedy gold.

I couldn't do it
jsprad20 May 2018
I watched a little over 5 minutes of this episode before I skipped to the next. I didn't know if something was wrong with her or if this is just her character. Turns out it was a character that is extremely annoying. I usually enjoy the episodes where I'm not familiar with the guests but this was hot garbage.

Felt like an old episode of Seinfeld.

I loved how these two played off one another. She felt like one of the clueless, eccentric one-off characters that always confronted Jerry on the Seinfeld sitcom.

Could have done without this episode.
danjumajames25 May 2018
I'm sure this young lady is funny in her own right, but for the premise of the show, it didn't work. Staying in her character the entire episode just killed the vast majority of humor.

Worst episode ever. Just stop the act already. Was wanting her to stop acting and actually have a real interview with Jerry.

Ditch the schtick
petecarroll24 October 2019
Terrible. If you want to see an actor in character you watch their show. I watch CICGC to see the person behind the character and this episode fails in this. Not only this but this character is painfully one dimensional.

Completely unwatchable.
michie03112 March 2018
Biggest issue, the premise of this show is Jerry having a conversation with Comedians about themselves and Comedy. Not interviews with "characters".

Setting that aside this "character" not remotely funny. Being Ignorant and Rude is not funny.

I do not get why kids (and I am not surprised that she was brought to Jerry's attention by his 13 year old daughter. But his reaction should have been to instead speak to his daughter about her taste in comedy and use it as a teaching moment. Not as a "booking" moment.

Shows another side
robin-823163 October 2017
I thought it was quite funny cause it kind of shows the comedy of when you have either a hard child to manage, an impossible date maybe even a wife. Who knows, but to me it is comedy. I laughed several times (even thought i don't have a kid) I can still see the resemblance of when things don't work out as you want but when you think, it was damn funny and immature

One of the funniest episodes
mikebh12 January 2022
I have absolutely no idea why this episode has so many bad reviews. I understand that some people are unhappy that she's in-character for the whole episode - however Jerry goes along with it and the interaction between the two of them is hilarious. I'd never heard of her before this episode, but now I think I'll definitely be checking out her YouTube channel.

The worst episode of CICGC
federicoleonel9 May 2021
I normally enjoy even if I dont know who the person is.

But this time is not the person its a character, I watch this show because I want to see persons in natural.

She made an acting with his character that broke the program. The target of this episode is only for Miranda fans.

IMO this episode is a big mistake.

I never rate episodes, this one I rated and I hated
barbaramaidel30 May 2021
Awful. It's not funny at all. The only good thing to be said is that Jerry looks more humane when close to this Miranda person. I hope those people who usually say women are not good comedians don't watch this episode... or they'll think it's a huge demonstration of their theory.

Dreadful
hvnm27 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I finally created an IMDB account, just to rate this abomination. Like many others, I lasted only 5 or 6 minutes. The "YouTube video" opening seemed clever, if a bit annoying. And then... holy cow, she's going to keep up this annoying crap after it is no longer a clever bit. Someone who is actually funny might have been able to pull it off. Straight annoying is not funny. Thankfully Larry David was next in the Netflix grouping of these episodes.

We have been watching them all, but this will be the exception.

One of the most agonizing television moments in my life
djangoilbastardo5 December 2018
It's completely unwatchable because of the hateable character of the show's guest. They don't talk about comedy or anything meaningful at all, I hope it's a character of her and doesn't reflect her real self, because I'd pity the people who ever came across her. The constant whining caused me to quit the episode earlier on, which I normally never do.
