It appears there has been a recount! As foreshadowed by our August 13 Blind Item, the Kiefer Sutherland drama Designated Survivor — cancelled last May at ABC — has been resurrected by Netflix, with the streamer ordering a 10-episode Season 3.
Netflix confirmed the news late Wednesday, while also confirming that Neal Baer (Law & Order: Svu, Under the Dome) has taken over showrunner duties. This marks the series’ fourth showrunner change in two years. To recap: Amy B. Harris (Wicked City) originally served as showrunner on the series (which was created by David Guggenheim), only to be replaced in May 2016 upon its official pickup,...

When Scotland-based distributor Anime Limited announces a new ultimate edition, I tend to take notice. So far, the company has displayed great taste in picking up titles old and new, and previous ultimate editions have been pretty grand. Their newest title to get the royal treatment is an old classic: Studio Bones' anime adaptation of Nobumoto Keiko's Wolf's Rain, a 30-episode series about wolves who are thought to be extinct, but who have learned to disguise themselves as humans. The series is lauded for its art and animation, which comes as no surprise, given it was directed by Okamura Tensai. It is also famous...

If the slew of new characters we're going to meet in season two of 13 Reasons Why is any indication of what we're in for, the Netflix series will not disappoint. Among the new faces is Anne Winters, who will be playing Chloe, new head cheerleader and It girl of Liberty High.
The Dallas beauty has never been shy in front of the camera, appearing in her first musical at age 4. She traveled back and forth between her hometown and Los Angeles during high school for acting gigs and made the move there once she graduated. Winters has had recurring roles in TV shows like The Fosters, Wicked City, Tyrant (pictured below), and Zac and Mia. She also made appearances on Liv and Maddie.

The decision to cancel Designated Survivor was not purely ratings-driven, per ABC president Channing Dungey. During a conference call with reporters Tuesday, the exec cited the series’ anemic “live” ratings as only part of the Kiefer Sutherland drama’s woes.
“Creatively, we’ve had a lot of behind-the-scenes churn on the show in terms of the number of showrunners involved,” she noted. “We were less confient with the creative path forward than the other shows we brought back.”

People have been burning with anticipation about what Ghost Rider will look like when he fires up on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Now ABC has released a photo of the man in black, and it’s muy caliente. Standing in front of a charring 1969 Dodge Charger (sorry, no motorcycle in this version), Ghost Rider has his signature leather jacket, dark jeans and, of course, a burning head. The Robbie Reyes character will be played by Gabriel Luna, who previously worked on Wicked City and True Detective. With the addition of Ghost Rider, S.H.I.E.L.D. Ep Jeff Bell said it “opens up a whole different kind of storytelling for us,” via Yahoo. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. begins its fourth season on September 20 at 10 p.m. Check out the picture of the Rider below and then, to get you in the mood, I’ve posted the Rollins Band singing “Ghost Rider” from The Crow soundtrack.

Guy Ritchie's classic film Snatch is being adapted into a series for Sony’s streaming network Crackle. I’m a huge fan of the film Snatch, and I even had a role in the film’s marketing campaign before it was released in 2000. I never thought I’d see it end up being a series, but it’s happening, and Harry Potter’s Rupert Grint has landed a lead role. According to Deadline:
Snatch will carry the spirit of the setting in the film, while creating a new world with new characters. Inspired by a real life heist in London, Snatch, centers on a group of twenty-something, up-and-coming hustlers who stumble upon a truck load of stolen gold bullion and are suddenly thrust into the high-stakes world of organized crime. Joining a long line of feature films being repackaged for the small-screen, Deadline is reporting that Crackle’s Snatch series has plucked Harry Potter alum Rupert Grint to star and executive produce.
An adaptation of Guy Ritchie’s gritty crime drama, the hour-long show is due to premiere on Sony’s service come 2017, when Grint will be assuming the role of Charlie Cavendish, a “dynamic, frustratingly chaotic and utterly posh con man.” Elsewhere on the casting docket, Fear the Walking Dead star Dougray Scott is on board as a series regular with Ed Westwick (Wicked City) set as a recurring guest star. Nick Renton of The Musketeers fame will helm the 10-episode season.

Why does it never fail to water our eyes when Vin Diesel honors Paul Walker? He did it again last night at the People's Choice Awards, when giving a lengthy acceptance speech for "Furious 7," which won two awards. Vin name dropped the late actor, whom he has called his brother, and at the end of the speech he sang a verse from the film's end song, "See You Again."
Here's his full speech:

ABC might have canceled Wicked City, the '80s serial-killer drama that blew its budget on expensive pop songs like "Tainted Love," but now it will live on in perpetuity on Hulu. Hulu hasn't picked up the series (so you can put down your pitchforks, Happy Endings fans), but the remaining first-season episodes will all be available to stream. Currently, only episodes four through seven are available, but The Wrap reports that episode eight will be made available soon. So if you're in the mood for Ed Westwick playing a bad boy and currently don't have a Netflix subscription to watch Gossip Girl, there's a bunch of Wicked City episodes for you to enjoy on Hulu!

Disney’s ABC has tossed unseen episodes of “Wicked City” onto Hulu’s streaming-video service, after it cut the serial-killer drama with ratings that plumbed historic lows. The fourth through seventh episodes, which were already shot when ABC pulled the show from its lineup in November, were available to watch on Hulu Wednesday. The eighth, final episode is expected to join the others later, but there has been no suggestion that Hulu will produce any additional episodes. It follows a budding practice among streaming-video services of reviving traditional television shows that were canceled by their networks, but with a twist.

Fans of "Wicked City," ABC's high-profile 1980's Sunset Strip-set drama that was yanked off the air after just three episodes screened this fall, will now get some level of closure.
As of yesterday, Hulu has made un-aired episodes of the canceled series available. A total of seven episodes are now up on the streaming service, and one of the show's producers tells the trades that the eighth and final episode produced will be made available as well.
Ed Westwick starred as a serial killer in the series which fell to a dismal 0.4 rating and 1.7 million viewers around the time of the third episode went to air. It was quickly yanked from the network.
Last month, executive producer Laurie Zaks revealed that all eight episodes had been shot and the story has a "great ending... the story is complete" which makes the series suitable to be picked up by a streaming service.
