- Finch and Root race to save The Machine, which has been located by the rival AI, Samaritan.
- Finch and Root are on a mission to save the Machine, after she gave herself up to Samaritan on her own volition to save Root and more specifically Finch. As Samaritan tries to complete its own mission in destroying the Machine while making what it sees as necessary corrections to the world order, Finch and Root have the difficult task of locating the Machine, who has been silent of late. When Finch and Root do hear from the Machine again, she sends them on a scavenger hunt without them knowing what all the pieces are supposed to accomplish. Finch and Root are without Reese who too has been silent. Finch has another difficult choice to make when he does eventually get an indirect message from Reese. Little do Finch and Root know that there is someone else who is trying to destroy Samaritan, albeit working on a different motive. Meanwhile, Dominic is holding Elias, Reese and Fusco hostage as he tries to negotiate the same deal Elias seemed to have with Reese, Finch and Fusco. Some may have their own machinations bubbling under the surface for this standoff between Elias and Dominic to end the way they want.—Huggo
- The Samaritan is cutting the supply of power on the West Coast and other areas. At the subway station, Finch and Root receive a telephone call from The Machine asking for help. The Machine tells Root to get some supplies, such as night-vision goggles from criminals, ice and the compression software and some chips of Ramdom-access Memory from Caleb's company. Meanwhile, Reese, Fusco and Elias are prisoners of Dominic and The Brotherhood at the NY Savings Bank. Elias lures Domenic, who kills Link, while Harper releases Fusco and he flees. Domenic calls Finch and asks Finch to meet him, but Root tells him that The Machine will help Reese. Fusco arrives at the scene the SWAT, and Domenic and Elias are arrested. Control learns that the Samaritan has forged an email in her name and is worried about a terrorist attack on May 6th, based on the evidence she found with Grice in Columbia Heights. But Greer tells her that it is not a terrorist attack, but a loyalty test.—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
