It really is because the women spend the whole episode and several real life days wandering in circles in the jungle of the island.
Sure we are told it is a stereotype that women are bad navigators, but they really lived it getting lost repeatedly on a very tiny island. I will give them that they were out of water and so severely dehydrated, but they also didn't properly prepare when they set out, and even though they marked trees they did not do so correctly. Even worse when one of the women claimed as a foresters daughter she was a good choice to lead because she wouldn't get lost in the woods.
Lovely graphics show their supposed path, which makes it even funnier how quickly they completely spin around.
