Series stars Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk (both series' regulars on the sci-fi series Firefly (2002)) raised the money for this project through crowdfunding on Indiegogo. Originally asking for about $425,000 they ended up with $3,156,179 pledged.
When Alan Tudyk had a guest-starring role on a season 5 episode of the TV series Justified (2010), he was credited not as 'Alan Tudyk', but as Wray Nerely - the name of his character in Con Man (2015).
The series is divided in four narrative arcs: episodes 1-4, 5-7, 8-10, and 11-13.
All of the main cast of Firefly (2002) /Serenity (2005) appear in the series at some point except for Adam Baldwin (who played Jayne) and Morena Baccarin (who played Inara).
Con Man was filmed in June 2015 in Los Angeles and the official release of the show is set on the 30th of September.
There are 120 minutes of content across 12 episodes that are grouped in 30 minutes (3 episodes) story arcs.
It will be made available for rent (90 days period) via Vimeo on Demand.
Pre-orders opened during San Diego Comic Con 2015.
